Irresistible (Buchanans #2)
When ex-marine Walker Buchanan stops to help Elissa Towers change a tire, he tells himself it's just the neighborly thing to do. And when Elissa finds herself baking him a thank-you pie, she's just returning the favor . . . right?

This was Walker's story. He was a beautifully broken hero who thought he didn't have anything to give to a woman cause of something he did when he was young. But Walker was so caring and careful, and he didn't even realize it.
Elissa was a great heroine. She was strong and inde...more
It wasn' t just her homemade brownies that made Walker find Elissa irresistible...

I have to say, I have not read the Buchanan books in order. I started with #3 (Reid and Lori, Sizzling) then read #1 (Penny and Cal, Delicious). But I have been looking forward to Walkers story because I think h...more

This was really funny. I have read a lot of books by Susan Mallery, and I'm really starting to make this series my favorite. I laughed at it more than I did with the others. Though I couldn't help but compare this series with the Lone Star Sisters series...more
Elissa was a strong and very likeable heroine. She never let her bad decisions early in her live define who she was.
Mallery still gives us snippets of the other members of the Buchanan clan.
Elissa is a single mother who doesn’t need the distraction of her sexy neighbor Walker Buchanan. Having the tendency to pick up the wrong men, she shies away from him but luck won’t have it that way. After Walker helps her out with a flat tire (even pays for the tire) she sets out to pa...more
This is the second book by Mallery that I’ve read. She might be the queen of contemporary romance stereotypes. Everyone in her stories are just cut-out characters from the heroic ex-marine...more
Even though I knew what was going to happen it didn't bother me as I really liked Elissa and Zoe. I liked that Elissa wasn't "all woe is me, my life sucks, feel sorry for me", she did the best she could to provide a good home for them both. Mrs. Ford was another surprising person, for a lady who was over 90 I think s...more

Elyssa was really skittish. When walker & Elyssa figure out they're attraced to eachother, there were a few hot scenes. But they didn't have the usual "He-Man" "She's-the Boss" type banter that Im used to in Susan Mallorys books. So thats why I didn't like it as much as some others I have read from her. The fact that she's a single mom, and a bit paranoid about men in general, then finding...more

The story starts strong and ends strong. Walker and Elissa's story really got to me and I never get emotional over books. I was pulling for them the entire time. I couldn't put the book down. I liked the glimps of the next two Buchannan stories as well. In most series, the story picks up within a...more

My gif. review on Irresistible , by Susan Mallery
Both Walker and Elissa (the main characters) have had a difficult past and are currently carrying a lot of emotional baggage: one recently home from war, the other with a child and serious issues with her ex.
It was a very touching story and I really liked this novel - so, 4 stars.
Susan Mallery is now, officia...more
Walker Buchanan is the quietest and most reserved of the Buchanan sibs. He came home to find...something. In his search for that something he does his best to hide from the world, but the world will not have it. Enter neighbor Elissa. Elissa gets his no relationship/no connections rule because she doesn't have the purest past herself. However, no matter how...more
Walker is a man come home from the Marines to find the girlfriend of a boy that was killed while under his command. But the search is taking a lot longer than he had anticipated. After taking a temporary apartment in slightly rundown area of Seattle, he meets his neighbor that is stubborn and smart mouthed. She is also prett...more
