Memoirs of a political wife After reading We Are Not Ourselves, I needed something much lighter in both physical and emotional weight. Prescott's book was just that. I've been reading it on and off for a few months, but only because I have some familiarity with her story. This book wasn't awful, necessarily, and it was definitely a good story...but it reads exactly as you'd expect from somebody who isn't by any stretch of the imagination a writer and who half wrote/half dictated the story to their writer, who then put it into book format. The surge of the memoir trend has forced me to read through horribly written, yet interesting stories more than once, and this falls into that category. She seems like a nice enough person though?
From a sad start it reads like a rags to riches novel .She comes across as a thoroughly nice person someone you'd like to meet ,but not get on the wrong side of !Her sense of humour shines through and her commitment to family strong .It semms an honest type of book.I'm not at all Politically inclined ,but this wasnt an issue with the book;)
