In this work Emerson offers visual and poetic interpretations of 10 places in the Navajo country that have spiritual associations. As Momaday writes in the introduction, Emerson's poems are more like meditations. Her details and love of her native culture invite the reader to go and explore her native land. I'm envious that my niece is able to know Gloria Emerson and personally learn from her.
