Setting:
(3/5) I knew this was coming: the Flock are once again on the run. They never stay in one place for too long. I really enjoyed them having a somewhat stable environment and I just hope in the future they stay in one place instead of moving all the time (worthless hope as I've read the novel series and that does not happen)!

Story:
(3/5) The first third of the volume was pretty good, but it started to get really crazy after that...more

This review is for this volume as an individual, not the series over all. You can read my reviews of the first, second and third volumes to gain an over all feel. This review will contain only mild spoilers for the events within volume four, but the spoilers for the earlier volumes may be large. You have been warned.

Maximum Ride is the story of six teens/kids (ages ranging from 6 through to 14) with a scientifically created mutation - they have wings and can fly. On the run from the half human h...more

I read the book Maximum Ride volume 4 by James Patterson. I think this book was the best maximum ride book that I have ever read. This I think was my favorite book that I have read in the entire year. At first when I saw this book I thought that is wouldn't be as good as the others, but when I started to read the book I was impressed on how good the book was. In this book there is a BIG secret that was found and born. My favorite character in this book was Maximum, Nudge( she is the cover of the...more

A disappointment. My liking for the MR series died a long time ago (I stopped reading after the 5th book) but decided to read the manga until it reached the third book (which is when I believe the story goes downhill). The first 3 volumes in this manga have done a decent job - beautiful art and they followed the storyline relatively well. But this one took a nosedive. Not only is it the second volume to have it's release date pushed months back, but they keep getting shorter and shorter. This on...more

I hate to admit it, but although this book was good and I liked it at the time, it is rather forgettable. It's only been a month and I had to flip back through in order to remember what happened. I must say that the same things that made me pick up the first three books, made me pick up this one and will make me pick up the next one. The art is good. The story is moves quickly and yet still manages to have enough depth to keep my mind engaged. And the characters are quirky without being overdone...more

YES! I just finished reading this volume! =D All I can say is that it's as good and awesome (they mean the same thing...) as the others. If you don't want to know the pros and cons aswell as some spoilers from the manga then DO NOT KEEP READING!

*spoilers*

1. They left out a very important scene from the book ( in my point of view) which clearly shows the progress of Fang and Max's relationship. The scene that I speak of is when Sam and Max kiss after their date and Fang is watching. The manga ski...more

I chose this book because I have read the previous books in the series. This book is about Max having to deal with a clone of herself. This clone causes more trouble towards Max's actions. Max and the gang have also got out of school which was a huge relief. My favorite quote is "Time to switch" said by Max's clone. This is my favorite quote because it was the first time the clone had to start acting like the real Max in front of the gang. Everyone had noticed something weird about the clone, b...more

You'll be interested in the beginning of the book, because it tells their bios. It also tells who is their brothers and sisters. You also learn that Iggy and Gazzy love explosives. They get in trouble because of it, and they don't get dessert. So because of this little incident, Max and everybody walk to their room and Max overhears the news on the T.V. about some kids that went missing. It brought back some memories from this woman and her husband about their son disappearing when he was an inf...more

I chose this book because I have read the previous one in the series. This book is about how the flock is preparing to leave Anne's house which also means that they don"t have to go to school. But a clone of Max is causing a lot of trouble. My favorite quote quote is when Max said, "I cant trust anyone." This is my favorite quote because a lot of the people in the school were attacking the flock and Max said this to Sam while she was running away. The way the author wrote this book showed how mu...more

LALLALA, I was so high when I got this cause I love this manga series.

The events were epic but not as epic as the first three books so I am hoping that the fifth one will blow my socks off.
The ending was SUCH a cliff hanger and I wanna know what happens next!
The characters are still amazing (especially the guys ;D) and I can't wait to see what will come their way.
I hate that woman!!!
I now love bombs!!!!
Nudge's hair is awesome!!!
Nudge's lips scare me!!!!!
I hate Iggy's 'rents!!!!!!

Maximum Ride Vol 4 very descriptively re-imagines a very pivotal point in the series, but probably has the least action in the series so far, although one scene in the book is incredibly bloody. Vol 1 had the capture of Angel and the big fight to get her back, Vol 2 had the very climactic flock-Eraser battle, Vol 3 had Max's Eraser problems, but in this volume Max and Ari don't even argue themselves into a good bloody fight. Although it wasn't as lackluster as Vol 3, its pacifist route may be ve...more

I chose "Maximum Ride 4" because i have read the first three books. In this book Max and her friends are helped by a F.B.I. agent who wants to also wants to do some research them and do study's on them. When they find out that the agent is also betraying them by helping their enemy. My Favorite quote is "How dare you betray us after we trusted you" because it shows how they trusted the agent and how she betrayed them. I think the authors writing style is very creative and descriptive. I would rec...more

Even though I jumped into this series without reading the previous volumes, it was okay. The illustrations are very good, the story line was easy to follow because the preface includes a story setup and pictures of the characters. This would be a good first book for anyone wanting to start reading Manga because it uses a few of the symbolic images but enough to figure them out. Definitely recommend it to a young reluctant reader - will get them hooked!

I don't exactly know how to review a manga, but the artwork in this one was amazing. The flock members look exactly how I pictured them, especially Fang, who looks dark and mysterious, and Angel, who looks absolutely adorable. The dialog is well-selected and believably amusing. Although there a few differences from the actual book, they're not so drastic that they'll change the manga plot.

another book that falls into the 'what the heck happened...' category. i mean it was good, but the characters are so...flipped. angel's fine. gazzy is WAY too cute. nudge is like... what the.... as is fang and max. they are so...inaccurate! >-< i want to read the next ones but i also don't. >-< i tried drawing fang...and well it didn't work. xD

even though nudge is all sweet in the fiction i hate her in the manga! shes glinging to fang WAY too much, like the time they kissed she got all jealouse and pushed max away! even though i haven't read the 7th book it feels like it's ganna be a bad ending! please don't ruin this book too!!!

Maximum Ride Vol.4 was just amazing! If you read the other Maximum Ride graphic novels, I strongly recomend you read this one. This book is a dramatic continueation of the last 3 books in the Maximum Ride grapic novel series. If you haven't read any of the graphic novels in the series, well if you enjoy reading manga, you should definetly read the series!
Ollie
Nothing spectacular. Key scenes of the original novel were condenses and changed. And about 20% of the pages were devoted to a preview of another manga.
It just could have been a lot better than what it was.
Alex Rivers!
i love reading these while waiting for the next max ride to come out, its like refreshing my memory. short, and easy to read, the graphic novels are true to the book, 100% and i can read them in only 2 hours.

I've now read the first four, and I can't wait to read Volume 5! But I have a question. Why did it stop right before the ending of School's Out Forever?
Rachael
Amazing, as usual... still in love with iggy... more like obsessed now :D "ily iggy!!!" *gives iggy hug* Can't wait for the next novel to come out...

I love all of the Maximum Ride mangas. This one is problably my favorite one though. I recommend this series of books to everyone who enjoys mangas.

This is a good book. If you want to read this book you would have to read the the other book that are before this one. You will understand what is happening more than if you just pick up the book and start reading.
Juna
Great book! I really liked it a lot. But the ending was cut off a bit too suddenly. I cannot wait until volume 5 comes out! ^___^
Justin
Well, I'm surprised at how good this is starting to be. It started pretty lame, but is increasingly getting better and better!

I do have to admit that i am getting into this series. I wish the library had all the series, but it looks like i will have to purshace it in the end.
Bookworm007
Was surprised that it didn't end (cuz it wasn't the second manga of the second book) but had a "to be countinued. . .".
