"I felt like I was going to my own execution...." Cat had listened patiently as the other three girls in Dr. Marlowe's therapy group shared their innermost feelings. They had described their broken families honestly, to the point of pain. If Cat doesn't tell her own tale, the others will see it as a betrayal. So she has no choice.

Or does she? Maybe she could lie -- just ma...more

There were several things I didn't like about Cat. I'm not sure why such an emphasis was placed on her precocious puberty or her weight (something that would repeat itself in the Early Spring and April Shadows series) Her family story is interesting, and felt the most VCA-ish out of all four girls. She has a neurotic mom and a loving daddy... a very loving one. She trusts him so much that she doesn't quite realize his feelings for her until he finally betrays her. This story should have been a f...more

Overall I found Cat's story to be the best of this series. Cat as a character was more relatable than any of the other girls, and her faults are what make her this way. Her story was more complicated than the others too and not only did that make the story itself more enjoyable, but it also made me more emotionally connected to Cat. Not to mention there was a surprise in the ending that I in no way saw coming at all. I like books such as these.

I enjoyed this series and for anyone who is reading...more

Pulled this one out last night when I wanted a quick read before bed. It is super quick read and I enjoyed it even though it is dark and twisted and warped. It is the 4th book in the series and if you have not read the first three you might be mildly confused but not to the point that you can't read it. It was written in such a way that you KNOW there are other books before it but it does not really change THIS story.

I came across several of these books at a yard sale recently and picked them up...more

It still shocks me to think I read these books when I was 10 years old!! There is definately alot of adult content in them. Cat was the final telling of the four girls (OWP - Orphan With Parents) traumatic young adult life stories. Poor, poor Cat!! What a terrible childhood she experienced. Her mother was a distant, cruel woman who kept her child at arms length and never showed her any love. Her father was just the same, except when she began to develop around 11 years old and continued to show...more

Wow!!! What her parents did to her is so horrible that I'm not going to say it! Read the series!! It's about these 4 girls that have been treated badly by their parents. They all go together to one therapist and eah book is from a different girl's point of view and in that book she's telling her story about what her parents made her go through during their divorce and about all the people who took advantage of her. I'm missing the second book Star but all the others make sense without reading it...more

VC Andrews has always been a favorite of mine since my childhood days. I have read (and re-read) all of her books, and although I am much older now and find that some of her work is better than others, I still enjoy the twists and turns, strangeness and mystery that continues to captivate my interest.
With that being said - it might also explain why I find the ghostwriter's quality of work lacking and less memorable than Andrews' true writing, especially with the newer, more modern series.

If you...more

I think this was the most heartbreaking story of all four girls.
It's easy to read and leaves you with a lot to think about.
Really loved it.

The fourth book in the disappointing Wildflowers miniseries. I wouldn't recommend these books.

I read this as a teen and at that time, the characters felt so real, so relatable.

Cat is book four in the Wildflowers series by VC Andrews. This series is about group therapy for four teenage girls, who call themselves OWP's Orphans with Parents. Each book focuses on the tragic story of their lives. The fourth book is about Cat's life with her sexually and emotional abusive parents. Her life is a mystery that evolves during her time with Dr Marlow.
