Honestly, it seems more posturing than poetry most of the time. No real revision, stolen uncredited lines (page 57 rips off a lyric from the singer Cat Power that is not credited in the acknowledgements). This just feels amateurish to me in every way. I rarely feel this disappointed by poetry that has fought it's way through to publication. The whole book just left me cold.

This inimitable, accessible poetry gave me the chance to experience through vignettes the emotional life of a city boy who hasn't yet lost himself or his vulnerability to the soul-sucking black hole of hipsterdom.

I always wished Holden Caulfield would talk about girls more. I also wished I could be him. Young Lichtenberg's casual, tangential style may entertain, but his generosity of heart invites me to live there.
