This is an amazing book, that anyone interested in the relationship between East Asia and the West in particular, and in any kind of relationship between states, cultures... in general should read.

Lily Ling has decided to explain West and East Asia's relationship through hipermasculinity, the feelings of inferiority that anything with the label "feminine" is attached with, and how Self and Other interact and influence each other. Her ideas, and her writing, are passionate and have been worked on
