I can't afford that much God Damn Jack Daniels!!

I can't wait to try some of the truly delicious-looking recipes in this book. I think you need to be an experienced cook to follow some of the recipes though - the 'method' section is distinctly lacking in many areas and it seems to me that many of them are 'suggestions' that are open to interpretation.

Never mind that though. Who knew that Jack was so versatile? I've used it on ham before but honestly...

First on the list - Jack Daniel's Brownies
Charlene Amsden
This is not a cookbook for beginners or corner-cutters. Each recipe takes time to prepare and many of the directions are implied. In some instances entire steps are skipped. These are recipes shared by real cooks who’s ancestors have been making these dishes for generations. They probably learned the recipe while tugging on their grandma’s apron and what seems automatic to them needs explaining to someone meeting the recipe for the first time.

So far the Grilled Lemon Chicken (p. 120) is our favo
Great cookbook filled with tons of great southern recipes. Many of the recipes feature Jack Daniels (go figure)!

Not every recipe includes Jack Daniel's liquor. This collection contains typical recipes from the folks of Tennessee from breads and soups to main dishes and deserts. Historic photos are embedded throughout the book.
