I’ll go on record as saying that this was one of the most down and dirty erotic stories I’ve ever read. I’m not normally into the one-night-stand storylines, even when they end up being more than just one night, but Simple Need got my attention from the first page and held it right through to the last. There isn't much of a plot or character development in this short story, but who cares? Just grab aglass bottle of your favorite wine, relax and enjoy. Vinter and Elise will do the rest. ;)

What I loved most about the story was this scrumptious MAN, Vinter, let Elise, a down on her man-luck, self proclaimed plus-size, average women, control where their tryst would take them. I gotta tell you, this is one of the best, most erotic short stories I have ever read. The hero Vinter is to die for. Lots of tatts and piercings with about 4 of those piercings on his d***. He is just so raw and earthy but with a kind, loving heart. I want a man just like him. I liked the heroine Elise too. I wanted the story to go on and on to see what happened with them although I don't doubt they had a great HEA.

There's absolutely nothing simple about the need racing through Vinter and Elise at first sight. This novella is a sinful indulgence; complete with a good girl whose bad girl is dying to come out, a tattooed bad boy with piercings in all the right places, and enough action to make your toes curl!

I loved this novella and it reminded me of Laura Kaye’s Hearts in Darkness (which I also loved) in the intensity and depth of the story, with so much emotion packed into a short novella.

Well, I vacillated between 2 and 3 stars, but I am settling on 2 1/2, mainly because the characters, what you can see of them anyway, are really, really adorable. I just wish it was a wee bit longer and deeper.
