The book was ok. Explanations of knitting terms was excellent. However, trying to learn DPN and magic loop was difficult from the book's explanations. Wish there were a few pictures/diagrams of each step. Some of the wording is a bit lengthy and confusing. Overall, a good read, especially for the knitting terms explanations. I'd recommend trying it from the library before buying.
This book has some great technical info in it, which is much appreciated. That being said, if I hadn't already read the Stitch N Bitch series and knitted a few things, it would be hard to follow. Some of the patterns are really cute, but a lot of them are just meh. I think this is a book I will refer to a lot, just to learn new stitches etc. I wouldn't really consider this a graet beginners book, more of a beginning-intermediate book.

So far this is really confusing. I kind of know how to knit a very basic scarf (my Mom taught me years ago but I always have to look up how to do it again). The diagrams of the very basic knit stitch and casting on make very little sense in this book; I pretty much had to go youtube everything to figure it out. Some of the tips seem helpful though, but so far this is not a book for very basic beginners.
