Wolf at the Door was a decent read. It started out slowly, but picked up the pace half-way through. It's basically about a group of fanatics who call themselves the Light of Truth, threatening to unveil the paranormal world of The Others. The Others are trying to find them before it's too late. I thought that the romance between Quinn (a lupine) and Cassidy (a foxwoman) was pretty bland. They were fine as characters, though they could have been a little more developed. I felt that there was no s

I got this because the second in the series was recommended, and I like to read series in order. It's outside my usual reading - it is romance, but paranormal, with werewolves and fae and foxwomen and werebears and gnomes. Right. The real bonus is that it was read by Kate Reading, who is quickly becoming my really, really favorite narrator, even above [gasp] Davina Porter and Kate Fleming/Anna Fields. She manages to breathe life into characters and humor into stories, doing everything I like abo

The first 100 pages were great! The rest of the book was typical paranormal good guys and bad guys. The plot was weak.
STORY BRIEF:
This is the first of a series, eight books so far. “Others” is the term for creatures including werefolk, vampires, witches, and magic-users. The Others live in secret among humans. Cassidy is a foxwoman (fox shifter) who teaches anthropology at a college. Her grandmother is a member of the Council of Others, the international governing body. More...

Wolf at the Door is the first installment in what seems to be a really fun, steamy, and interesting series. The characters are interesting, the narrative is funny, and although there's certainly nothing here that hasn't been done before, sometimes tried and true is a good thing.

I really enjoyed this book. It was funny, smart, and had a smoking hot wolf-shifter as the Hero. I actually really enjoyed the heroine as well. She was smart and had some great snarky commments and inner dialogue.
I like the idea of the preternatural community working together under the term "Others". It gave a sort of oneness that I think is missing sometimes in PNR. I like seeing witches and vampires and shifter, OH MY!

Sullivan Quinn traveled 3000 miles from his native Ireland with his wolf pack. What he didn't bargain for was chasing rabidly after the most delectable quarry he'd ever seen. Quinn is in America on a mission--to warn his Other brethren of a shadowy group willing to use murder and mayhem to bring them all down. But one whiff of this Foxwoman's delicious scent and he knows that she is more than a colleague or a conquest--she's his intended mate.

Sullivan Quinn has traveled from Ireland to NYC with his delegation to warn of a group that will go to any length to expose/hurt/kill the Others who are vampires, werewolves, etc. to the world. The Others would prefer to unveil themselves instead of having it done so violently by these extreme humans. While at a reception, Sullivan is distracted by the smell of honeysuckle and follows the scent to Cassidy Poe. Cassidy is a world renowned authority on social interaction as well as a Foxwoman.

WOLF AT THE DOOR is the first book of Christine Warren's THE OTHERS series. This book is chocked full of creatures that will both fascinate and horrify you but in the end leave you clamoring for more. Cassidy and Quinn's budding relationship is intensely thrilling. In addition to burning up the sheets with their passion, they burn up the pages with the drive to uncover the source of the danger to the Others. WOLF AT THE DOOR is a fast paced tale that will draw you in from the very first page, ke

This book had its moments - I enjoyed the relationship between the two leads - and a huge cast of paranormal characters that I can only assume will be featured in future installments of the "Others" series. Our hero Quinn is an Uber-Alpha Irish werewolf, devilishly handsome, of course. The heroine, Cassidy, is a Foxwoman, a PN breed I haven't come across before. She's intelligent, feisty, loyal and skilled. There are amusing peripheral PN's and a fairly good plot that will be ongoin

Absolutely entertaining!!! "Put down the crop and step away from the deceased equine," the play on words in this story is laugh out loud funny.

I'm beginning to think that Warren's 'Others' series is hit-and-miss for me. I liked Walk on the Wild Side and Big Bad Wolf, but others (pun intended?), like this one just haven't been great. In fact, I struggled to finish it. It started off good, with some sexual tension, but then it just fell flat. The characters weren't that interesting, I felt the heroine ended up being a bit too easy after her initial reaction and the story wasn't all that entertaining. Also, Quinn's Irish brogue was a

Christine Warren is new to me and I struggled with her writing the first 100 pages or so. Was starting to kick myself for buying so many books in the series before I had read book one. She loves using cliche sayings, pop references and very common phrases twisting them just a little to make them have a paranormal bent. A few of them were pretty funny but after a while it was just too much and didn't add anything to the story. There may have been some eye twitching on my part.

Narrated by Kate Reading - Narration 5*s - Will I re-listen? Yes
I’d describe Wolf at the Door as a big roasted marshmallow. There’s nothing to really sink your teeth into – just some fluff and some heat. If I were reading this book I would have been bored more than once but listening is another story. Okay, first of all, the book had nothing to do with the title. Second of all, most of the "witty" things everyone said to each other was the complete opposite of what they actually did and at the end there every word sounded as if straight from a soap opera. Third of all, I would have rather heard about how Ness and her husband, Rafe, came to be instead of reading about some "world-renown" anthropologist who is falling for her new co-worker on her job of which she was hired f

I couldn't decide between a 3.5 or a 4. I settled on a 4 because I LOVE the world that Christine Warren has created.
The "others" meaning, the were creatures, vamps, fae, demons ect have been hidden from the humans for thousands of years. NOW, they're existence is threatening to be known and some WANT to be known to the humans, they think it's time to co exist in the open, and some of the others DO NOT.........here's where the story starts.

This is a fun, fluffy read. I like Christine Warren's series because it is fun and not incredibly serious, though it seems to try to be. The main female character is likeable, and I also like that she's a Foxwoman, not a typical shapeshifter in paranormal romances. She's unusual, but it's not handled in an obnoxious, "Wow, she's so SPECIAL!" sort of way. She's also a cultural anthropologist, which is really pretty spiffy.

This first installment in Christine Warren’s “The Other” series is chock full of laughs and one very sexy wolf.
Quinn is by far one of my favorite werewolf heroes of all time. He is extremely funny and definitely knows how to treat his mate Cassidy. I can’t get enough of his way of wording things either.
Cassidy is a feisty foxwoman who is a perfect match for this Irish wolf. She makes a good effort at keeping her distance, but who could resist a charmingly handsome wolf More...

I loved this author when she was writing for Ellora's Cave. Her books are funny and steming hot. She provides a good plot that is well written and pretty error free. I love her characters and their interaction with each other. This is the first book she has written for a NYC publisher and it lives up to the books she has previously written. There is also a good mystery and a plot twist that will probably play out in future books. I highly recommend this author.

Maybe it's my fault for reading this after I finished book 5 in the Eileen Wilks Lupi series.(which I thoroughly enjoyed)
I didn't really like Warren's writing style... and the story itself was not great at all. If I had to read "Cassie, love" one more time I'm sure screams would have shot from my mouth while blood shot from my eyes.
In this genre there a winners and losers... this is a loser for me!

A well-written, well-researched book and an in-depth look into the politics and relationships of the world of the Others. Warren has done her homework, and has written with style, humor--a very dry wit, and given us characters that are strong, knowledgeable about themselves and the world around them. Romance abounds but as always, Warren works romantic relationships into the story with great skill.

Couldn't get through the whole book,I loved the first couple chapters and then when the draggy sex scenes came along I just skimmed to the back of the book to see the conclusion. I was also turned off the lack of back bone in Cassidy. I couldn't get myself to like her. I gave up on this book, but if you're looking for a paranormal romance, here's one to dive into.

The others (all magical beings) are divided about unveiling themselves to the much larger population of humans. Cassie (a fox) and Quinn (a wolf) find each other in this highly entertaining mystery. While the unveiling is being discussed some traitors have taken it upon themselves to force violence thru kidnappings and murder. Very good mystery with some very HOT romance!

This is a new author for me and I really enjoyed her writing. I loved all the different species of the others. I was so excited to find out what was going to happen next and what creature would turm up next. The romance was really sweet and very hot in places. I'm going to read the next book straight away.
