The jury is still out on what I actually think of this book in its entirety. The basic premise, that "talk therapy" possesses more long term, positive, conditions for change in the brain (versus drug therapy)was the lure for reading this book. What I found repeatedly distressing (even though the author explained) were the repeated references to Freud and Prozac. The science behind the concept of psychotherapy and why it can be effective was very interesting. The author/therapist who seemed to be almost mocking her clients was not.

Similar to Blink, integrates a lot of research and condenses into a highly readable book that makes sense of the psychotherapy process.
