I had to give up on this book, it was due at the library and I ran out of renewals. Then again, I did have plenty of time, it just wasn't compelling enough.

The book is more or less self-published, since the author runs a publishing business, and it really could have used more editing. Not that it was really horrible, just some sentences could have been clearer and there was the occasional mistake. Shelves: how-to
Cam Mathers does a good job of laying out why challenging times are headed our way and broadly discusses how to reduce your dependence upon a thriving economy so you're protected when things aren't thriving (and if you think they're bad now....). He has chapters on energy, food, water, finance, etc. In each case there is enough discussion to get you started, but not the "nuts-and-bolts" how-to instructions.
