Baltimore street cop Mandy Delinski isn't expecting any miracles this Christmas. She's thirty, a little too round, still very single and she lives with her parents. So who could have guessed that her whole life would change before New Year's Eve? That a simple job policing a Christmas party would find her in the arms of sexy-as-sin bartender Josh Thornton? That they would...more

Harlequin Blaze has a gem with Hope Tarr's first book for this line. Mandy is a cop from a big family who still lives at home with her parents. She feels she is overweight, not getting anywhere in her career and her love life is hopeless.

On Christmas Eve she meets bartender Josh and the sparks between them flies. Instead of going home for him for a night of hot sex, she goes home to her bed and then finds out Josh was killed.

The twist in this story is that Mandy ends back in time to Christmas...more

Not only was it full of passionate unity between two people, but it was also filled with unconditional love and sacrifices for the people you love.

It was not only a detective case but a love story all in one. It's beautiful.

The magical fairy-tale of a Baltimore street cop and a bartender proved to be a little too out there for my tastes -- and I'm a fan of the In Death series where every excuse available is used to make Roarke a part of Eve's murder cases. The biggest drawback to this book is that while the characters are likable enough, this story needed to be far longer. There were some good plot threads I felt that didn't get fully developed enough: Mandy's issues with her self-esteem, her relationship with her...more

Yep, it was lovely, this Blaze novel by Hope Tarr. Once you surrender yourself to the magical element of this story, it's a really nice read. The characters are very likable, sweet and sexy. The story certainly doesn't lack suspense either, although some of the 'protected wittness' stuff was a bit unbelievable, but hey we're talking about a story where the heroine can make time go back a week because she makes a wish on New Year's Eve. So how important is believability *grin*. The hero...more

I suppose you could say I've always been a dreamer. In my mind's eye, I can still see my first-grade teacher shaking her head and scolding, “Hope, stop daydreaming and pay attention!”

I tried, really I did. But how could the dreary assignment on the chalkboard begin to lure me away from the dashing Disney fairy-tale figures populating my head? Cinderella and Prince Charming, Snow White and Prince C...more
