This is the fourth book in the Masters of the Shadowlands series and we finally get to have Cullen’s story. From the beginning, I loved this bartenders laid back manner. His easy, sexy smile and wicked sense of humor has made him one of the most popular Masters at the Shadowlands. Not interested in any kind of relationship that involves commitment, Cullen is content to enjoy the “fruits of his labors” at the club, and as the head of the sub trainee program, he’s got more than enough "fruit" to p...more

From the moment you meet Master Cullen, there is something seriously alluring and seductive about him. You want more...much, much more of him. When Master Cullen told Kari he'd top her in the second book, Dark Citadel, I was done. The phrase 'hooked, line and sinker', could easily describe how I felt about him.
"I'll top you tonight." -Master Cullen to Kari
Andrea has a bit of a troubled past. She's been on her own since she was young and doesn't need hel...more

OK people if you are after some super hot..bad ass...sexy as hell. controlling Doms then the shadowlands series is one for you.
A good friend recommended these books and whilst i am a little naive when it comes to BDSM i can honestly say that these books will heat you to the core... I have been lucky in the past and managed to read a few really good BDSM however this book number 4 in the shadowlands was simply "ECSTASY"

Lean on Me by Cherise Sinclair
This is another installment in this series I enjoyed, featuring Andrea and Cullen. Another reviewer mentioned an overuse of the phrase 'creased cheek' or variations of that phrase and I agree that it is a constant in this series. Also this book did not always change pages or chapters when a timeline changed. It didn’t add the usual **** at the end of a paragraph either which sometimes indicates a change of time/place. That confused me a bit but overall this book was...more

Quite liked this story- but did not like the continual use of the word "Dios" just bugged the hell out of me.
I realise she was of Spanish origin and maybe it is because I do not hear this type of language in RL- not being from the US.
I wasn't keen on Andreas personality either.
I did enjoy the smexy scenes, but was wondering why the writer did not give us the full detail of their first night together in his bed. I thought that was a very special occasion and we only get glimpses of it in flashbac...more

This was my favorite of Ms. Sinclair's books to date and I thought this one had the most focus on the emotional arc within the elements of the BDSM story. My only regret is that we didn't learn more of Cullen's background and get better insight into why he was in the lifestyle and why he had the rules he did.
I've been reading a lot of BDSM labeled books from a variety of publishers, and Ms. Sinclair is one of the strongest authors I've encountered to date. I hope that she will write further boo...more

This is my brief summary about All of "The Shadowlands" series.
Often misunderstood the bdsm lifestyle frightens many people, but it can be truly enlightening and freeing for those who are able to find the inner dom/sub in each of us.
The series are based around a highly exclusive bdsm club called 'The Shadowlands". High dollar membership and screenings for all members, as well as strict rules , 'dungeon monitors' for all rooms and a club 'safeword'. There is never any hurt/pain or harm here, unl...more

Book four of the Shadowlands Series
I'll start this one simply, this book is hot, but...
I was halfway in love with the bartender Cullen from the previous titles and was excited to get to read his story, and who he ended up with. Unfortunately, Andrea just didn't do anything for me, and I had a few moments with some of the sex scenes that just didn't settle with me. That's an opinion and mine alone, so make of it what you will. You can't love every character no matter how much you'd like to, and...more

All I kind really say about this one is, "Eh..." Definitely not as good as the last three. I was really looking forward to Cullen's story. He is so loud and good-natured but firm and authorative. I thought it would be a great combination with the right female love interest, and it would have been had the female character been someone other than Andrea. She is half Hispanic half Nordic - the complete opposite of all the other women who are normally around 5' 3" to 5' 5". She is super tall and str...more
Andrea is on the hunt for a Dom with the commanding strength to make her submit. The problem is, all the Doms she has met have fallen short of the bar, and she is beginning to wonder if she'll ever find the right one. As kind of a last ditch effort, she has her good friend call in a favor and before she knows it she is a trainee at the very exclusive Shadowlands Club. She can tell that Master Cullen isn't very happy to take her on, and she is determined to work hard to please him. The problem is...more
Liked the characters, good story, hot read. Now on to the complaints:
Cherise Sinclair makes the same mistake as many romance authors when writing a Latina/Hispanic character--she has her using random Spanish words to make her seen authentic. To all writers out there...
DON'T DO THAT!
Maybe non-Spanish speakers don't notice, but those of us who do know the language can tell you that there is nothing less authentic than a bilingual character mixing up both languages when speaking to someone who only...more

Oh My! This is by far, my favorite Shadowlands books. Cullan completely rocked my world. His domination and utter care for his sub Andrea is breath-taking.
He's a tough submissive's trainer, who against his better jugment, and as a called-in favor from an important contact, hires Andrea into the sub's training program. He's also a natural born protector, a problem solver, and an alpha male dom.

The BDSM is very accessible and stays out of the sadistic range. The Doms come across a little like pseudo-therapists. This story centers on Andrea, a tough girl who learned growing up that it isn’t good to depend on anyone is trying to come to terms with her desire to submit. Master Cullen, a confirmed bachelor is intrigued but tries to keep his distance. I didn’t like this as much as I did some of the others but it was sill pretty good.

Roll me over and fuck me again!! Follow the rules of Shadowlands. Do as you are told or else endure delightful shockers, kittens! Move over Zachary! Master C is here to rule the roost or should I emphasize Cullen’s ability to stimulate pain with every caress of divine pleasure. All through the bartending /Dom activities Cullen comes across as a tender heart veiled behind a rigid persona. Andrea wants a hardcore Dom and desires it real bad. Rough around the edges due to her street endurance credo...more
This another hot little story of surrender that takes place in the Shadowlands BDSM club.
Andrea wiggles her way into the trainee program with the help of a friend calling in a favor. She meets and immediately falls for her Trainer, Master Cullen.
This story is more about internal struggle than external. The other Shadowlands books had some big event that caused the tension in the novel, but in Lean on Me, the struggle is in Andrea's unwillingness to ask for what she needs.

Andrea Eriksson is a very independent woman, who runs her own cleaning business, who also doesn't allow anyone to help her out no matter how badly she needs the help. Andrea has searched the local BDSM clubs looking for a Dom to help meet her needs for domination yet isn't having any luck. Until her best friend Antonio tells her that there is on club she left off her BDSM clubs~Shadowlands. He tells her that he can get her into Shadowlands as a trainee because one of the Master's owes him a favor...more

Cullen's confirmed my favorite male character 'til now, and Andrea's my fav female one, but they have some limits.
As each one of his predecessor Masters, Cullen has
• a lost cared one (dead/divorced fiancee/wife)
• a preference for well rounded women (that then are revealed to be not so very plump)
• a militar background/career (thank you Edoardo for explaining why, but 4 Masters in 4 books sounds a bit too repetitive)
• a limited range of facial expressions: a creasing cheek (only one!) and crinkl...more

Hot!! I think this, so far, is my favorite of the Shadowlands series. Cullen was a favorite of mine in the previous books and I was hoping that his book would do him justice and it delivered. I enjoyed the way he changed from a "never have a relationship with a sub" type of Dom to really coming to care for Andrea. The book also gives good background for both Cullen and Andrea so you had an understanding of her need for obsessive independence and his need to be able to know she knows when to ask...more
I have loved the Masters of the Shadowlands series thus far. I especially enjoyed Lean on Me as Master Cullen has held a special place in my heart since book 1.
Under his watch as the Club's master of the trainee program, we meet Andrea, an extremely independent woman who desperately wants/needs a Dom in the bedroom. Andrea has mostly encountered "weak" Doms from previous clubs, until she enters Club Shadowlands and meets Master Cullen. His voice alone starts her body humming... this is the powe...more

I wasn't supposed to give this a 5, but I changed my mind at the last minute because I really felt connected with Andrea's character. I love her! She's really kickass. Although the other heroines in the series were independent and sassy like her, she has this certain something, maybe because she grew up in different circumstances unlike Jessica, Kari, and Elizabeth, and to others, from "the wrong side of the tracks".

Ok... where to begin on this one... I was seriously taken a back by this little gem... I don't know if there has ever been a female character I personally ever related to more than Andrea... Her independence along with her desire to NOT be as independent are well displayed here. Cullen was one of those characters that we all got to know from the very first book, we feel like we really know him going into this book, so when Sinclair focuses so much time on Andrea it allows for a nice balance effe...more
Andrea wants a Dom that she can fully submit to and when her friend, Antonio, calls on a favour from Master Cullen, the Shadowlands' training master, who reluctantly takes on Andrea as a trainee. Annoyed, he begins to train Andrea with the intention of making her quit and leave the club. However, as he spends more time with her, he begins to realise he doesn't want that at all.

OMG!...I LOVE ME SOME MASTER CULLEN!!! YUM-MY!!! Did i say that the last one was my favorite in this series so far? Well this one has just bumped THAT ONE right off the top! There's still not a whole lot of actual "story" per se...it's pretty much just very HOT BDSM sex...with some sweet and romantic parts thrown in...and then MORE HOT BDSM sex! ;)

Here’s my recommendation. Listen closely. This is important. Download all four Masters of the Shadowlands books. Pour yourself a glass of wine. Keep the bottle close. Slip into some comfy jammies. Light a candle. Read in an uninterrupted location. Be prepared for heavy breathing.
Cherise Sinclair hits the nail on the head with this series that, at times, seems so real that it could be non-fiction. The striking imagery of the BDSM world with its erotic submission and...more

I presume you know what the book is about. I'm telling you what I liked or disliked about it.
I am pleased to say that at this point I'm still enjoying Ms. Sinclairs work. No annoying patterns of repetition, just another clean, well crafted story. Oh how I love to read the words she writes. Her definetly impresses me as someone that is genuinely enjoying what she does and it carries over into her work in every aspect I see.

This was my least favorite of the series so far. I am disappointed, because I couldn't wait for Cullen's story!!! While I love all of the Shadowlands books, this one somehow didn't do it for me as much (though I still liked it a lot--it wasn't love). I just didn't like Andrea. Though I liked her more the second half, all of her spanish phrasing really got on my nerves. I tried to look up what some of them meant, but the Kindle app doesn't have spanish. Also, I felt like we didn't get to know Cul...more

I live in the west with my beloved husband, two children, and various animals including three cats who rule the household. Over the years, I've lived in many states and worked at a multitude of jobs before settling down to writing. Finally meeting other authors was a huge relief; apparently I'm not the only person to have a mind populated with characters talking, arguing, and having hot sex.
