After she teaches her class about the human body and they visit the science museum, Mrs. Frizzle shrinks the bus and the class going inside one of their classmates, Arnold! The bus and the students explore the body of Arnold. They learn about the digestion from the stomach to the small intestine. The bus enters a blood vessel and the students get to explore that also! Summary: This story is about a group of students who go on a classroom field trip and end up on an adventure threw a human body. Nothing is ever ordinary in Ms. Frizzles class.

This book is about the children in Ms. Frizzle's class. This is a pretty cool science book for children in which Ms. Frizzle and her strange school bus venture inside the body of Arnold, one of the kids in class. I remember liking this book when I was a kid. As an adult, though, I was simultaneously disappointed that they only explored limited areas of the body and grossed out by the areas that they did explore. Ms. Frizzle is a wacky teacher whose school bus possesses some magical abilities and is able to transform into different objects to take the children on exciting field trips! I remember reading all of these books and watching the tv show as a child. I learned a new lesson each time. They do such a fantastic job in explaining complex concepts, such as what goes on inside the human body, and simplifies it in a way that kids can grasp it. This is a great series that I enjoyed as a student and will definitely use in my classroom to engage students about subjects in science prior to going into further exploration. A good introduction into the human body and its many functions. I think it would be fun and hands-on to acquire a poster, a life size skeleton, or perhaps various models of different human organs to let students study and manipulate after reading the book. Students could then make their own skeletons by making puppets (popsicle sticks, cartoon cutouts) and then attaching and labeling different organs as well as listing the function(s) of each organ; bones included. Ms. Frizzle's always spice up her class by going into the actual science lesson. In this book she takes students on a trip inside one of the classmates digestive system. Throughout the entire book there are notes from students about the human body and the illustrations are amazing. The illustrations are great drawings of what the human body actually look like.

Will I be any less of a book nerd if I say that I like the TV adaptations of this book better than the book?
Don't get me wrong: the book is fun and educational, and my son loved it. I love how much it has going on—the story, the little speech bubbles, and the reports.

The magic school bus series is truly amazing. It is the first set of books that I enjoyed reading, the adventures the bus took were crazy and exciting. In this book it is no different, the bus shrinks and get swallowed and the kids in the bus get a chance to learn about the human body form the inside. I love the fact that every book in the series is educational but in a really fun way. the characters are funny and the themes are made interesting.
