For all that is sweet and holy, I freaking loved Conquest. Consider me one of the groupies’ cus Jesse and Evan has me as a notch on their belt. Let’s leave out the fact about female parts; I have a mouth and all that. Ooops did I just write that? You damn right I did.

I definitely consider this book an insta love, but in the sense of finding your soul mate and really connecting with another person. Jesse is an up and coming music star, all he needs is his big break. It’s

Not bad.

I'm reminded why I don't really like "rocker" romance books. Musicians are so often written as ridiculously arrogant and that grates on me. Jesse Alexander, the up-and-coming music phenom has conceit and ego so huge it's almost comical.

This book excelled my expectations. I have only 3 words that best describes the story: IT. KICKED. ASS! I'll admit that I'm a serious fan of the Heaven series by Jet and devoted to that being the best rock group stories but, oh yeah, now there's a but people and not the tight 2 cheek muscled ones. When Jesse and Evan and we sure can't forget the guitarist which is a little too adamant about being 'straight' came into play I was blown away. Totally! Reading the lyrics I envisioned what I thought ...more
What can I say about this book? It ROCKED! (bad pun) Seriously. I really had a hard time putting it down. I loved the character interaction and the sound of their voices. I mentioned before that my major peeve was the shift in POV for one paragraph to the next. I shift POV all the time but not THAT drastically so for it to bother me is the ONLY bad thing I can say. AND, it wasn't that annoying as you read so I couldn't even take off a 1/2 star for it or anything. SJ shifts POV, BUT the voices of ...more

I've had this sitting on my Kindle for a while, and my resolution for this year was to catch up on reading all the books I already own. No doubt that some will be better then others, as my taste has seemed to change a bit recently.

Thankfully, I still really liked this. Both Jesse and Evan are singers. Evan has already made it big, and Jesse is on the brink of all his dreams coming true. These two men were both good looking, and they knew it. I found that to be a bit more honest then when books
After waiting so long to read this I was a little worried it wouldn't live up to my expectations, I'm happy to say I had nothing to worry about.

This was a great story to lose yourself in. A main couple that were so damn cute together, and secondary characters you wanted to either hug or strangle.

One of my favorite parts was the interaction between Jesse and his brother Brandon. So funny but so realistic too. In fact pretty much everyone was believable,

I really enjoyed this story. Overall, I actually loved Jesse and Evan, even though Jesse was extremly narcissistic and annoying and Evan had a tendency to be an over-protective asshole. I guess maybe I loved them because they were so cute and hot together? The story is mostly really sweet but it did get extremely angsty towards the end. I was so frustrated that I wanted to scream and throw my Kindle just to keep me from crying. (view spoiler) ...more

One of the reasons I've waited so long to read this is because of how long it is. I sometimes get intimated by long books because that means there will no doubt be a lot of sex scenes (I'm like a nun here, less is more when it comes to reading sex, IMO. XP). However, even though it took me forever to finally read this book, I did enjoy it a lot.

I loved all these characters. From Jess' arrogance to Evan's possessive to Brandon's protective tendencies to how funny Kenny was and even to how much I

I mostly liked it.

What I didn’t like:

The POV changes were just random shifts with no warning or indication it was switching. It was very confusing and I had to reread a lot to try and figure which character was speaking or try to figure out whose POV we were getting. Also some POV just made me go WTF? Why did we need Tim’s or Gregg’s or other minor characters POV? All it did was take me out of the story. Also WTF was up with Tim? (view spoiler)

I loved this book. Having only bought it yesterday, I started it last night and only managed three hours of sleep, having difficulty putting the book down once I started it. Jesse and Evan's story was so sweet. I loved watching their story unfold and seeing how they got lost in each other (isn't that the best thing about a new relationship?). I enjoyed learning about their different back stories and seeing how they formed the men they became and how their differing personalities complimented eac ...more

Fuck yes!!! Hot and sappy, my favourite!

This book did it for me, I don't know how to describe it. But yes. Conquest is an amazing book, and it has great characters. Its a very sweet story and might not be for everyone. I know some of the things in this book are usually no no's for me, and that was interesting for me because I did not hate them in here.

Jesse, was a character I found rather adorable from the beginning. Even with his insane temper and nerdy ways I was smitten with him. I hated his
This is a very good story with only a few problems. The characters are likable and interesting and the tension is held consistent throughout the story with a good pace. The writing is evocative and emotional without being too angsty and off putting. Despite its lengthy page count, the story is engaging and quick to read. There are a few problems that may turn readers off but I think the overall story, characters, and plot will help overcome any issues.

Jesse Alexander is a gifted man. He’s incred

Over 400 pages....eek! I was a bit intimidated of this so I didn't ever pick it up on my own...cut to April challenges! This book was actually picked for me for 2 separate challenges (in different groups). Wooo!

Musicians get me a little weak in the knees...can you imagine what 2 sexy as sin musicians can do to me?! :)

Jesse and his band Conquest are ready for the big time...but all they can do is keep playing and waiting for that big break!

Evan is a major rockstar who just needed a brea

The two main characters were great, especially Jesse. I really liked the fact that he was brash and mouthy and got himself in trouble. I also liked his brother and their banter a lot. The progression of the MC's relationship was a bit extreme, in a couple of different ways, especially how fast it started. I would have expected more caution, given who Evan was and all he had to lose. But the writing was good and got even better as the book progressed.

I liked the band members, and the interaction
I LOVED this story, LOVED Jesse and Evan and I don't really know what more to say except WOW!! Bring me more. This was a very sweet, tender love story that did have me crying near the end thinking just maybe I wouldn't get my HEA, can't wait to start the next book, I immediately purchased all the rest of the series which I don't normally do in case the stories start to lose it or become repetitive. I have a good feeling about these and I do love S.J. Frost's books so I'm not worried. I highly re ...more
I wanted to like this story more than I did, but there were some elements that just irked me.

Can't hate the characters because Evan and Jesse are so freakin' perfect that one has to root around to find a small flaw which is then blown out of proportion to create conflict within the story. The actual external conflicts are just washed away like writing in sand, completely ignoring them and their potential turmoil.

The chemistry between the men was hot, sweet and idealized. Unfortunately, it was al
I think I need to do the minority report on this one. This review contains spoilers. I will hide the more important ones.

I found this book to be very frustrating. First of all, there were quite a few editing errors. In two places the author managed to say the opposite of what she meant, and there were many mixed and/or clunky metaphors, and lots of repetitive language. The book was too long and the sex scenes were frequent and repetitive.

Second, it is an insta-everything book (sex/love/commitmen
Well I will tell you I really enjoyed this book I laughed, cried and really enjoyed hanging out with them, ok that sounds weird but you know what I mean, LOL When I wasn't reading it I was wondering what everyone in the book was doing. That's one way I know if I love a book if I put it down and I can't stop thinking about the book. I really loved Jesse and Evan and the love that they shared. I really did think it was a beautiful love story about loving the person you love no matter what happens ...more

I'll admit I'm a huge fan of rockstar books and this one is now one of my all-time faves. I loved Jesse and Evan - loved that they were both fragile in their own way, yet strong when they other needed it. I was heartbroken at the sacrifice Evan made and so happy with the eventual outcome. Romantic, angsty, fluffy, humorous, sexy - basically I need rolled up into one spectacular read. I'm off to read the sequel. to Jesse and Evan. ...more

Awwwwww... Evan and Jesse are adorable. I laughed and cried with them. I loved the quiet moments and their struggle to be together. I loved the lyrics, especially from Shattered.

Additionally, the story brought us great supporting characters – Brandon, Julian, Kenny, JJ and the memory of Evan's Dad Ethan.

Thank you for this fluffy, endearing story. Can't wait to read the follow-ups.

I loved this book it was a compelling read! The story lives in the world of rock music and the battles that can exist between a personal and a public life. It is a story of love, heartbreak, loss and dreams. The relationship between Jesse and Evan is beautiful and at times heartbreaking.

I hated this.

I also found myself grudgingly fond of it. Occasionally, and very grudgingly. It's the only thing that kept me reading...regretfully.

Honestly, it was the characters that wouldn't let me go. In theory, I could have loved them. In actuality, they were just too sweet for me, and I found their dialogue with each other to be so painfully ridiculous, unrealistic, and I can't even...

I wanted to DNF this so hard. But some insane part of my brain kept whispering: "It might get better. The

Recommends it for: anyone who loves sexy & heartwarming m/m romance
Conquest is sure to conquer the hearts of anyone who loves a heartwarming romance with plenty of steamy m/m sex and luscious rock'n'roll singers. One of the many things about Conquest that I really enjoyed were the songs to which we were treated throughout the book. The only thing missing were the tunes ~ my imagination fell a little flat here ~ but the lyrics were all heart, life and love: Fabulous!
S.J. Frost conquered my heart with Evan and Jesse's story; there was laughter, giggles, empathy,

OMG!! ...THUD...(catching my breath) that was freakin' awesome! But then I am admittedly, whole heartedly a sucker for the rockstar stories :0) I love lots of angst, and that's one place to find it. Rockstars and angst go hand in hand.

Jesse is a highly gifted and gorgeous singer who hopes to make it big one day along side his best friend and guitar player, Kenny. The problem is finding and keeping other talented bandmates. He's also looked after by his fiercely protective older brother, Brandon,
Conquest is a hot M/M romance about rock stars that I really enjoyed. Especially the first half of the novel was great. S.J. Frost tells the love story of the young, upcoming singer Jesse and the very successful musical genius Evan. They meet, fall easily in love and start living together. This all happens in the first third of the book or so. We follow their relationship which is described in detail, with freakin’ hot love scenes, and we see how Jesse and Evan influence each other’s music caree ...more
