Despite the unfortunate title, good advice about getting back into the dating scene after 50.

This self-help book did not exactly have me at hello. In fact, I found it hard to keep reading after getting to an anecdote on the very first page where a recently divorced fifty-six-year-old woman meekly accepts a calf feel from a male colleague, and later winds up outside of his hotel room in her cotton PJ’s nervously wondering if she should knock on his door for more. Now, if a colleague started feeling up your leg at a conference, wouldn’t you be offended in the same way the German Chancello ...more

"I got this book from the Early Reviewer program, and I should start by saying that since I am neither over 50, nor a divorcee or widow, I am not the target audience for this book. I do, however, have background in psychology, so perhaps I can bring that to this review. This book gives advice to people who have lost a long-term partner and single again later in life. [return][return]PRO's: the advice is easy to understand, clearly organized, and approachable. The author includes many real life s ...more

This book deserves 3 stars on the title alone - - come on, if there was an award for best title of a self-help book, pretty sure this would sweep the category. I recently went to a book club for widows (yeah, such a thing exists), and the consensus was this was THE book to read. The group leader actually had a box of them on the floor. For $6, I left with a copy.

The blushing that accompanied the recommendation led me to believe it was Fifty Shades for widows. The title is the raciest part thoug

I thought I had sworn off self-help books forever, but this book caught my eye on the new book table at the book store when I was looking for something else. I have been "distracted" away from love by work and old rejections for the past few years, so this book spoke to me, even though it is mainly directed at widows and divorcees. Sills is refreshingly frank and yet encouraging. A helpful book for me.

Who wouldn't want to get naked again? What should you do if you find yourself suddenly single? Run out and buy this book! Sills confronts difficult issues with humor and honesty. This is a delightful book and makes a great gift item.

I think that this book is best suited for women in the specific situation of having to date after years of being coupled. I just never got into the book.

Interesting reading for reentering the dating world. Some values are different than mine, but still has insights into the emotions involved.

Didn't finish it before it was due...couldn't get into it at this time. Will revisit later when it's applicable.
