"Brazen" is the first in Queen-of-the-menage Maya Banks 'Brazen' series. Her sex scenes are very erotic and her characters are very tortured and normally I like that. But there was just something about this one that kept needling at me and kept me from enjoying it as much as her other books.

Brothers Seth and Zane are in the big city bar after a successful presentation for their ranch when they are approached by a very young woman offering one of them sex. After hustling her out of the bar and th...more

So I've tried a book by the famous Maya Banks. I have to say I wasn't too impressed.
Steamy, nothing to say about that but, stupid me, I need a bit more plot than the one that is NOT there in Brazen. I know, debatable that this kind of books actually NEEDS a plot - what for huh? - but beside all the... oook I won't even go into that I desperately need a story to hold all the.... errrrrr, that together. I'm not sure if it's the lack of a background, of something that my mind can hold on to, that...more

Home is where the heart is and in Jasmine's case two men hold hers.

In light of her unrequited feelings for two men and after taking some time away to mature, Jasmine is back home on the Sweetwater Ranch and ready to show these brothers she's all grown up. The circumstances surrounding their first meeting set the precedence in how Seth and Zane treat her and Jasmine aims to change it with her body and confessions of love. As soon as she's back at the ranch she starts an aggressive campaign in se...more

Playing with Fire Never Burned So Darn Good!!

What's a girl to do when she's HEAD-OVER-HEELS INFACTUATED with two STUBORN, ALPHA-MALE TEXAN BROTHERS? Hoping to prove to them she does NOT harbor tender love & care for one more than the other. That she irrevocably desires, cherish, & love them equally with her ENTIRE MIND, BODY, & SOUL.

Besides knocking them over the head with an enormous mallet, and dragging them back to her lair. It's gonna have to take a whole LOAD OF MISCHIEVOUS COER...more

First in the Brazen erotic romance series set in Texas. The couple, er, threesome focus is on Jasmine Quinn and Zane and Seth Morgan on the Sweetwater Ranch.

My Take
This wasn't very good. It's more as if Banks was going through the motions and forgot that a love story should include a lot more emotion than was here. There were some lovely tense bits with Zane wanting Jaz and Seth thinking that made the two of them a couple and Jaz off-limits to him. Feeling outside. Then when Jaz propositions h...more

I really, really liked this one. This is my second Maya Banks read (first being Colters' Woman) and I really need to read more. This is a very, VERY different menage book than I am used to reading. For a fresh change, the GIRL is the one insisting on the menage...and the guys are not wanting to share, even though they have shared women before as "kink" (their words, not mine). One of the more realistic menage books that I have read...I've always had an issue with the ones where the guys just sha...more

I was surprised by how much I liked this book, and the main reason was Jasmine. I can see where she would end up being attracted to both guys and how that would throw her. I liked that in order to not hurt either one she was the one to leave.

Her time in Paris was eye opening. How funny it was that she found a friend that had the type of relationship that was just what she wanted and could show her that it could work.

While Jasmine was young, she really knew what she wanted and went home to get...more

It's not bad, just felt a little short on the emotional entanglement, it was very close though. The story explored all turmoils from Jasmine trying to break free of the image of an abandoned girl to a passionate-independent woman who have always loved Morgan brothers; overcoming her fears and resentments; the brothers accepting her love, coming to term loving and sharing her and facing reality. That said, there were sweet moments, sexy and achingly touching moments. I went from irrat...more

While i would gladly move to the brother's ranch after reading this book i am not too thrilled with Jasmine. sure sometimes you need to push an twist things to how you'd like them, but this woman is taking manipulation and ultimatums to all new levels. in the end it seemed like no one had any choice or say in the matter other than jasmine. i also found it incredibly amusing that Carmen the nanny / housekeeper / mama bear for all parties in the house was perfectly ok with the girl she sees as her...more

So clearly I have a thing for poly romances. This is my second one from Maya Banks in as many months. I read this in two days and enjoyed most of it. (Only rolled my eyes twice) For me the needy damsel in distress thing is a bit overdone in this one. I would have liked to see Jaz act more like a woman the way she protests to be. All in all, the pace was good and the sex, SUBLIME as usual for Banks. As a writer who mostly prefers a grittier take, this was a delicious piece of cotton candy, just p...more

I more than love ménage stories and having read other books by this author, which I really enjoyed, was really looking forward to reading this book.

It’s not exactly an awful book just that it failed to pull me into the whole story and the characters.

So Jasmine runs off to Paris because she doesn’t know how to deal being in love with Seth & Zane, the two brothers that she has been friends with for years. After a year in the city of love, she is ready to face the challenge, flies back to the...more

After a year away Jasmine Quinn decides to return home to the men she loves. Zane and Seth have always protected Jasmine, they found her as a teenage runaway and vowed never to let any harm come to her. When they see Jasmine they realize she has grown up, and Jasmine doesn't want them to see her as her protectors but as the woman she has become.

I loved this book, it was beautifully written and really went to great depths to showcase the fears Seth and Zane were feeling about sharing their love w...more

5 stars – Contemporary Romance/Erotica/Ménage

Before reading this, I knew there were mixed reviews, but being a big fan of Maya Banks, especially her ménage stories, I decided to read it anyway and I’m glad that I did.

Jasmine Quinn was a 16-year-old runaway who propositioned brothers Seth and Zane Morgan in a Houston bar out of desperation and fear of reprisal from a dangerous pimp who threatened her life if she didn’t turn her first trick. Horrified, Seth and Zane rescued Jasmine and brought he...more

I really enjoyed this book a lot...and was surprised that most of the reviews were rather luke warm. I read this in almost one sitting...it was a quick, sexy, easy to read book. Just all around enjoyable.

Brazen is an erotic alternative romance about a committed menage relationship...or at least the building of one. Brothers Seth and Zane Morgan were out of town one day six years earlier when 16 year-old Jasmine Quinn propositioned Seth. It wasn't something she wanted to do, but sh...more

What can I say...this book didn't do it for me. Maybe if Seth & Zane had a bit of fun together it woulda made it a bit more yummy for me! (yeah, I know they're brothers...maybe I like that kinda thing) Seriously tho, I had a hard time getting into the book from page 1. Jasmine wasn't all that pleasant of a character to read about. When she was with one brother and not the other, I was thinking mean horrible thoughts about her and was feeling bad for the other brother. Seth was definitely my...more

I enjoy Maya Banks books as a general rule, and this one is no difference! Well written detailed and erotic sex scenes. The story keeps you interested from start to finish and you have to admire the determination of the main character Jas! Looking forward to the rest of the series! I won't give more details other then tell you if you like good story, erotic stories, and willful characters this is the book for you!

Enjoyed this one. It was unique because it was the female pursuing the two males, and not the other way around which was sort of a breath of fresh air for me.

Maya Banks has written other books which are far better than this one, but still, fast-ok read.

Nice to see a female character get what she wants!

I enjoyed this one. It was unique because it was the female pursuing the two males, and not the other way around which was sort of a breath of fresh air for me. I really liked the main character Jaz even though she was slightly dramatic, but in the end I felt bad for her because all she wanted was for these two men to love her back!

Definitely not a bad book.

This is a different take on a familiar theme with Maya Banks - a polyamourus relationship. However, in this case, it is the female that has to convince the males (brothers, no sexual interaction between them) that the three-way marriage/relationship can work. Good read, great development of characters, and typically HOT Maya Banks sex scenes!

it was just so so. I suppose I need a little more realism in the books I read, and there was a lot that just seemed implausible to me in this one. I also thought that the heroine was TSTL at multiple points throughout the story. However, with all that said, the steamy scenes do not disappoint, and the HEA, although predictable, was very cute.

Somewhere near a 3-1/2 for me. It was OK but not great. Damn cowboys and their ideas about what's "right". :-) Half this book was the boys fighting their feelings for Jasmine. And Jasmine making it really hard (figuratively and literally) for them to resist her. I have to give her credit for knowing what she wanted and going for it. I felt bad for her that she kept getting shut down by both boys out of some protective instinct. They weren't what she needed. They said. And then once Zane accepted...more

This book was ok but not what I expected it to be. I read better storyline than this one.I also did not like how the author would give a complete physical discription of how the characters in the book looks like. She only gave a small amount of description of the characters. If you want to read the book go ahead but take out the library or read as a used book.

An ok read ... felt like I've read this same plot before. Jasmine returns back home in Texas after a year in Paris ... "home" is with two guys who rescued her from the streets when she was 16.

Now she wants them both as lovers. Lots of angst, just one menage scene.

I really tried to enjoy this book because I love Maya's work. But the heroine, Jasmine drove me crazy with all her whining!! The story was good but I couldn't get past her neediness all the time.

I don't know if I've ever given a Maya Banks book less than a 4. I had a 3 but the more I think of it, the more pissed I am, so I had to give it a 2.

It's a personal thing. I have SERIOUS issues with people who are supposedly "in love" but don't talk to each other. Over half of the book wouldn't have happened if she sat them down together, explained what she learned in Paris and asked that of them. But no, she lets everyone, including herself, be all hurt because she can't open her mouth before s...more

2 brothers save Jasmine from selling herself when she was 16 and take care of her and now she wants them both. Some parts of the book were quite moving
