This novella is a spectacular example of just how well Donna Grant can write. I will admit it was a bit odd to think of werewolves on the same level as aliens, but it didn't offend me. Donna Grant is a very talented writer, and this novella had me gnawing my nails in anticipation. The entire story spans a 6 hour time frame where Krista, the heroine, meets the man who has been haunting her dreams. For the past three months, Krista Evans has been having highly erotic dreams about a mysterious stranger. I really enjoyed this unique take on werewolves with it's Halloween themed suspense, and steamy romance. Krista disrupts her entire life in search of something she doesn't understand. All she knows is something or someone is pulling her towards Cardiff, but when she gets there she struggles to fit in with her coworkers. They challenge her to steal a rose from a haunted house and the story takes place during the night of Halloween. I found myself relating to Krista since I too had moved to a city...more
I picked this one out thinking it might be a nice change of pace from all the YA I have been reading lately. Let me tell you this was a big change. This is an adult only book. Primal Heat falls into the erotic fiction catergory without a doubt. As far as the question of if it will get your blood pressure up the answer is yes. If you are looking for a hot read then this one would be an easy pick.

I really enjoyed this Halloween novella from Donna. A slightly different take on werewolves than I'm used too but still enjoyable!

Primal Heat is a sex fueled novella about a werewolf “tracker” and the woman who haunts his dreams. Orrin and his partner have arrived on earth in their spacecraft supposedly to save the human race from extinction at the hands of alien werewolves who can’t control their bloodlust. I really enjoyed this story. There is a lot of potential for this to become a full length novel and I wish Donna Grant would develop it into such. I would LOVE to see that.
Only three stars as it was a bit lacking in character development (yes, I know novella, so not much time) and the main female just readily accepted the explanations given. There didn't seem to be any disbelief on her part. Otherwise I would have given it 4 stars!

I've heard of Donna Grant and I have a book of her's on my bookshelf, so when I saw this in the kindle book store for free, I didn't hesitate. But, this is not really a book. It's a short story. Just a little over 100 pages (estimated). Mostly it is exlicit sex and very little plot. Too over the top for my personal taste.
Not my favorite. Werewolves are actually aliens that fly in yellow spaceships.
Orrin and Krista have been having erotic dreams of each other so he goes to England to find her and find out how she's attracting him. The werewolves are after her too one thinking she's his mate. Kind of a strange story. ***

This was free and I've enjoyed other things by Grant but this was just a "no" for me, once they got to the point that the bad guys were going to rape the heroine and enthrall her to make her want it, that was it for me (they don't btw, but still...)
Really an unrealistic bad read in need of good editing. And I'm totally confused by the "Bite Me!" In the title. There was no biting even mentioned in this short read. All in all, I would not recommend Primal Heat to anyone.

A "different" take on werewolves and aliens. Fast pace storyline. I liked the chemistry between the main characters Krista and Orrin.
It was surprisingly good for a erotica free short. I highly enjoyed it and will have to look into this author some more.

I love everything from Donna Grant. I don't think the lady could write poorly if she tried. There are about 5 authors, word artists, that could write a Dummies book on how to paint drywall beige and make it sound thrillingly exciting, and I would give it glowing recommendations, this is one of those authors. So in my opinion, if you see her name on a jacket/cover, read the book, you will not be disappointed.
