Gordon's writing style in these stories makes for an easy read, but, for me, the plots left much to be desired. I felt that while his use of descriptive language in general was very captivating, the characters themselves did not seem as fleshed out as I would have preferred. While I recognize that the stories in themselves are really good, ultimately they were just not my cup of tea. I received Man Receives a Letter in a goodreads giveaway and very much enjoyed reading it. It made for the perfect subway read on my way to/from work, with its short yet thoughtful stories. Gordon's writing style was easy to read, but the content was still sufficiently deep. It was not the best I've read this year, but I would still recommend it to others.
