A tad repetitive, the book offers great advice and background on the urban ideal according to Paolo Soleri.

Soleri describes us as homo sapiens, and action-man: homo faber, the toolmaker, the fabricator, who transforms his natural environment into an increasingly man-made environment. Soleri has focused his creative life on design theory for ideal human social habitats.

Paolo Soleri was an Italian architect. He established Arcosanti and the educational Cosanti Foundation. Soleri was a lecturer in the College of Architecture at Arizona State University and a National Design Award recipient in 2006.

Soleri authored six books, including The Omega Seed, and numerous essays and monographs.
