How stupid.
Hm, okay, that isn't necessarily the best way to start a review with those two words, 'how stupid'. But in truth, that's quite EXACTLY what I feel and think when Dark Flame by Alyson Noel comes to mind.

First thing's first - I absolutely LOVED the first installment to the Immortals series, Evermore. It was, by far, one of my most adored books of all time.
That is, until Blue Moon came out.
Alyson Noel totally twisted her own story. It's like she's trying to More...

Overall, this installment was just okay for me, once again. While I found it a tiny bit of an improvement from Shadowland... it still missed the mark for being a really GOOD sequel. I'll warn you that there will be a few general spoilers in my review as it's hard to discuss without them in this case.

The saving grace for this series is that Ever finally has an epiphany (with the help of Ava, Damen and Jude) in the last third of the book. From that point on... the story got a bit be More...

I finished this book in a few hours eager to see if Ever gets the antidote or not.. I reached the end of the book and I have to say I liked it but I'm dissapointed. 2 whole books now on how Damen and Ever can't "Touch" each other and they still don't have a cure. The book seemed to drag on forever, I just wanted her to hurry up and get the antidote already. The ending doesn't really sit with me very well, Roman dying or 'going to the Shadowland' is messed up, in my opinion. He was a co More...

OH MY GAWD!!! Where do I start???
How about EVER! What in the hell is her deal. How are the mistakes that she's been making even realistic? Anyone with half of a brain would make better choices than her? She deliberately ignores Damen's advice time and time again, and he again and again shows his forgiveness. What the hell kind of relationship are they in? You would think that Damen would get tired of her screwing up his life after three freakin books. I think that Alyson needs t More...

Ever, Ever, Ever.

How stupid are you now?

It just makes me sad that you'd allow yourself to fail when you get close.

And oh god, ANOTHER love triangle?

Shoot me.

To be honest, though I loved the first novel in Noel's series, Evermore, Dark Flame was a disappointment.

To begin with, I started this series with full excitement; the first novel was fantastic, maybe also the second book as well, but from then on the series went into a downwards spiral.

Dark Flame, to start, really had no plot advancements at all. From the beginning to end of the novel, the story seems to have no major changes in really anything. You might as well skip t More...

Unfortunately "Dark Flame" didn't live up to my expectations, it's simply an extension of 'Shadowland', more of the same. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate this sequel, but I can't say I love it either.
I kept on reading, because I was anxious to know how Ever was going to get the antidote for Damen. Damen takes her on original dates, I love Versailles and I actually liked the ending. It makes me wonder what they are going to do now?!

In this installment Ever experienc More...

The fact that I got a hardbound copy of the fourth book in this series from a pile at the publisher's booth should say something - something like, this series isn't selling the way we want. Or that we need to push the books more.

I know that the first book seemed to be heading in a direction that might have promise, except that it also seemed to have a few too many things going on. Well, that's changed. The Immortals reads like the kids from Gossip Girl met Charmed and hung on for More...

Words can't express how much I kinda not like this forth installment of The Immorals. Seriously. I mean It wasn't too bad, just not good.
I think its what the author what us to fill after reading this.
Yah she got that.

I absolutely LOVED the first installment to the Immortals series, Evermore. I give it 5 stars and the second (Blue Moon) I give it 4 stars and third (Shadowland) I give it 3 stars, ok so what am i suppose to give this? 2 stars? haha seriously, this series is More...

Having a hard time getting through this one...it seems to drag a bit and I really enjoyed the first three of the series. This one just seems a little slow and repetitive.

Dark Flame is the 4th installment of Alyson Noel’s series The Immortals. The series follows Ever Bloom, who recently lost her parents, sister Riley and dog Buttercup. She’s now living in Laguna Beach with her aunt Sabine, with a problem. Ever since Ever woke up from the accident she’s telepathic and can see auroras. Fellow new student, Damen, has answers for her. This book is about four immortals Ever, Damen, Roman, and newly changed Haven. Ever is trying to find a way to get the antidote for Damen so that they can be together completely. I came across the series just needing another book to read. I love the characters. . .I can't wait to read this book! 2 1/2 more wks. I love the characters: Ever's amazing with out knowing it-but extremely impatient. Damen so focused and in love with Ever-his yearning and desire for her is almost palpable & when he has to stay away from Ever extremely painful. Romy & Rayne (the twins)-Romy is so sweet and nice, patient and lovable, she knows how to sugarcote things. Rayne is direct & straight to More...

In my opinion, dark flame was not a huge dissapointment. However, the series itself is a dissapointment. While i was reading the first book, I found that i didn't want to put the book down. I brought it everywhere with me, and read it whenever i had the chance because i NEEDED to find out what happened with Damen and Ever. But after the first book, the series kind of goes nowhere, and the storyline gets scattered, and makes no sense.

I didn't think Dark Flame was too bad, considering ho More...

In Dark Flame Ever has made the choice and must now live with the consequences. Haven is now immortal, and a bad one might I say. Her jealousy towards Ever has not subsided and she is hell bent on outshining Ever. In this one Ever still continues to make the same stupid decisions she was in the other books, I guess this a character trait of hers- stubborn and stupid. I think that given their history Damen has gained some sense of patience after living for centuries; hence his patience with EVER More...

Alyson Noel’s Dark Flame returns us to the life of teen Ever Bloom, who is struggling with bullying, and unreliable friends. Despite the clichéd American setting Noel expresses Ever’s helplessness and isolation in a way that rings true to anyone who remembers High School.

Next, Noel deals with the issue of sex and relationships. She goes against the grain of other teen writers by separating sex from love, and objectively illustrating the temptation of polygamy. This can be seen as Ever More...

This book is a little better then the others, however, I feel the author is kinda dragging out this series a bit. There is still alot of unnecessary things and Ever seems to think she is a genius. What she doesn't realize is that the people she's dealing with are hundreds of yrs old and have been around the block hundreds of times and are more experience and much wiser then she. She blows that off like she is so intellegent and can figure things out all alone. Which if you read these books o More...

This is my least favorite in the Immortals Series. It is getting boring that Ever and Damen's number one problem is that they can't touch and therefore cannot consummate thier love. I mean, come on, this has been going on for the past three books, think of something different.

I also didn't like that Haven had a bigger part in this one. I never liked her and never could understand how her and Ever became friends. When she finds out she's immortal, she has a complete personality chang More...

Once it seemed being immortal was a gift to Ever Bloom - now it's a curse. And she's a danger to herself.

Ever has been dabbling in Magyck - seeking to explore her own powers, hoping to find a future for her relationship with Damen. But she's not in control - in fact, the magyck has bound her eternally to her immortal enemy, Roman. Whenever he's near, she feels his heartbeat, his breath, his blood racing in her veins. Ever is in deep - and the one person who might be able to help her More...

This book was a book where cliches breed more cliches. one of the worst books i ever read. i started the series anticipating many many sequels but now i dread this series. i figured this series would be an refreshing new page turner for the YA paranormal genre but i was let down x 10.

Not only did each sequel become more predictable but i found myself hating Ever. she was weak willed, a little selfish, and annoying. and the villans plain out gave me a headache and i could basically p More...
