SPOILER WARNING!!!!
THIS IS A REVIEW OF ALL THREE BOOKS IN THE MAYA DAVIS SERIES!
HOWEVER, I REALLY DON'T GO OVER THE STORYLINES IN DETAIL, SO IT'S NOT THAT SPOILERY. JUST A WARNING.

I now officially adore Erynn Mangum. I had thought that she couldn’t get much better than the Lauren Holbrook series, which was completely amazing (My review). However, apparently Erynn is just stock full of hilarious characters and great story lines that resonate with normal people like me.

Both of these series are abo...more

What this book's about:

Latte Daze is a completely adorable, laugh-so-hard-I-almost-peed-my-pants funny, and ultimately entertaining chick-lit about Maya Davis and her crazy life. Juggling her new boyfriend, new coworker, and trying to find a new house because she just found out her roommate/best friend is getting married to her ex-boyfriend makes life a little insane. But at least there are endless jokes about Jack (boyfriend/ex-coworker) going to work at the zoo to lighten the mood. On top of...more

First off, let me say I'm not a fan of chick lit and I'm past the age of girlfriends getting married and the whole dating nightmare. With that said I must admit I thoroughly enjoyed this story. You get a little bit of everything with this story. You have the insecure Maya, you have the "perfect" (but sweet) girl living the almost perfect life, with Jen, you have the wicked mother with Ms. Mitchell and then the guys. Travis, Maya's ex who's dating Jen, Ethan the computer geek, co-worker and then...more

Latte Daze is a perfect light, summer read.
The characters were so real and sweet. I couldn’t help but think of the movie Bride Wars while reading this book and pictured Anne Hathaway as Maya. (Although, Maya and Jen were in no way fighting in this story). Maya and Jen have such a great friendship. They just seem so adorable. I completely fell in love with Maya’s dog, Calvin. The way her parents dote on him reminds me of my dog!
Most of my Christian reading seems to be historical books, but it’s...more

Latte Daze by Erynn Mangum starts out fast and goes full throttle to the last page.

Maya Davis is a creature of habit and she definitely hates change. She is an underemployed English major working as a barista at Cool Beans with her boyfriend Jack. She shares an apartment with her to cute beagle Calvin and her best friend Jen who by the way is dating and becoming very serious with Maya's old boyfriend Travis. She goes to church regularly and also attends a 20 something bible study group, and she s...more

After reading Erynn Mangum’s first book, Miss Match, I was looking forward to reading more from her. I found her writing fun and entertaining. I haven’t been reading her books they way they were intended to be read though. After reading Miss Match I made sure to get the other two books in the Lauren Holbrook series. Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to read them. Well, when I saw her new series, the Maya Davis series, I knew I wanted to read that one too! Once again, I’m not reading them th...more

In *Latte Daze*, book two of Erynn Mangum's *Maya Davis Series*, several months have elapsed since the end of the first book. Maya and Jen have reconciled from the hurt of Maya's secrets about having dated Jen's current boyfriend years back. Maya's also been dating her fellow coffeehouse Barista, Jack, for a couple of months now. Things are going well, but things always change. New periods in our lives begin, and bring with them completely different dramas with which to be dealt.

Jen's current b...more

Description (from book): Maya Davis already has many titles- Christian, barista, maid of honor (new), possible girlfriend (newer) aunt (newest)- and her life is about to become even more complicated. Just when she thought things couldn't get any worse, her ex-boyfriend proposes to her roommate and best friend, Jen. It's not long until their apartment becomes Wedding Central. As if that weren't enough, Jen's obnoxious mom moves in to help plan the wedding, and Maya's genius brother and sister-in-...more

I am a huge Erynn Mangum fan. I've loved all of her books, and this one is no exception. Her writing voice is fun, and her characters are too. Erynn is also one of the best about including a spiritual concept or truth without sounding preachy. The new character of Ethan was a good addition to the cast, and I am eager to see what happens with him in book three. I also love that this book showed a little more depth in the relationship between Maya and her mom.

While I enjoyed the book (especially...more

Another great adventure into the heart & mind a fabulously fun character & world, by Erynn Mangum. An author I've quickly added to my extreme favorites list... and I'm now anxiously awaiting the release (and Kindle release) of the third/final chapter in this current series!

Dealing with change has never been my forte, despite how constantly it invades my life. So watching/reading a beloved character struggle with it all... lean on God... and come through it, was encouraging... while utter...more

I've read all of the books in Erynn Mangum's Lauren Holbrook series as well as the predecessor to this book, Cool Beans, and I have to admit - I was very disappointed by Latte Daze. To me, it seemed like it was a sequel that was rushed to be printed. The whole story fell flat and I found myself beginning to be annoyed with Maya, the main character.

Plus, and this is just my observation, it honestly felt like every chapter had them eating something. I do enjoy 'kitchen fiction' novels but how can...more

This is the second book in the Maya Davis series and it was just as wonderful as the first.

Latte Daze isn't the longest book in the world, or at least not the longest book I have ever read, but it seemed long. That might sound bad, but it's not. I found myself intrigued by everything going on right until the end. There were definitely a few slow parts, but I find it's hard to find a book that doesn't have a couple every now and then. Like Cool Beans, you will follow Maya in her everyday life and...more

The second book in the Maya Davis Series, Latte Daze is filled with changes for Maya and her friends. First, her best friend and roommate is engaged to Maya's old boyfriend, and secondly, her best friend, Jack, has recently become Maya's new boyfriend. Crazy! Maya must remember that God is in control as she adjusts to life's twists and turns.

I really enjoyed this novel. Couldn't wait to start the third and final one of the series! :)

Maya is experiencing a lot of changes in her life right now. She is handling them with prayer along with copious amounts of coffee, ice cream, and just sugar in general. I love how Maya is such a real person! She isn’t perfect, but with God’s help she is trying. It reminds me that God is bigger than my problems AND my character flaws. We all need that reminder sometimes. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the Maya Davis series!!

I prefer latte daze too the first novel it was funn and I found myself unknowingly smiling through out it the only thing I found upsetting was that it felt like the whole book was leading up to Jen and Travis's wedding and then reading the last couple of pages I was left a little bit disappointed as it ended the night before but other than that it was a really nice novel about how relationships grow and evolve and change in good ways and yea

Oh wow! So much happened in this book! It was crazy for Maya and Jack, And definitely crazy for Jen and Travis! Latte Daze was as good if not better than Cool Beans.(The first in the series.) Well time to go get some coffee!:-)

Can I just say that Maya Davis has one of the most adorable voices I have ever read? I do get a little tired of hearing outfits described, but these books are so worth the read.

These are just fun, light books -- totally not my usual type of book, but I really enjoyed the 1st 2 and am looking forward to reading the 3rd.

Cute light read. It does mention Christianity but it is the not the focus of the book.

Cute story. Its funny that some of the stuff really ties to whats going on in my life now, too.

What can I say? I adore Erynn’s books. Each and every one of them. They’re a perfect combo of sweet romance and giggly humor. Maya’s antics always have me smiling while I’m reading and wishing for more when I’m done. And as I’ve said before, I love her childlike approach to her relationship with God. This second installment in the Maya Davis series was flawless in my opinion, and is the perfect summer book- or any season, in fact.

I always enjoy reading Erynn Mangum's books because they make me happy. Actually, they often make me laugh out loud. Her characters feel like people who would be hilariously fun friends, and I like that. :)
