I did not like this book as much as his previous books. A short, quick read.

On page 13, he unveils his formula for happiness:
Happiness= Set Point + Conditions of Living + Voluntary Activities. We all have a certain set point, which is how naturally happy you are. Unhappy people seem to interpret situations as problems, while happy people see the very same situations as opportunities. He says researchers have found that around 40% of our happiness relates to this set point.

singkat saja.

menarik, inspiratif namun sayang kurang detail.

Untuk Deepak Chopra, lain kali cobalah lebih keras lagi. buku ini tidak buruk malah bagus tapi sayang bukan hasil terbaik anda.

saya tunggu. :)

This is a very quick read - (139 pages) and I picked it up because I was wanting to learn more about meditation. Instead, I learnt that happiness is about understanding about enlightenment. I come from a very western, individual culture and I was interested to read about how every part of us has been part of something else at some time. I liked the illustration given at the very end of the book where the author kissed the lips of his grand daughter after a trip to the beach and could even tas More...

I consider myself a pretty happy person so I picked this up as a means to help deepen that contentment - I thought it was a nice reflection piece of reading and it helped me to be more conscious of certain aspects that I may have overlooked in the idea of maintaining deeper happiness. It is a quick read and it is not meant to be a "have all the answers" type of book. If you can read it with an open mind and a forgiving heart, I think it can help each person view different (and difficul More...

The most important thing I have learned from this book is the fact that awareness can sometimes save you from the hardest moments you may encounter, whether in social life, personal or career. Mr. Chopra is so right teaching us that if we don't let go of the ego, we truly cannot be happy...ever. Such a hard challenge but in the same time a target you want to achieve so much. I finished this book with the deep confirmation that the world would be a better place with less ego from my side, at leas More...

Love it. A succinct guide to awareness of your true self - the essence of love and happiness - and overcoming the ego (self image) - the source of fear and feelings of inadequacy.

I loved the layout of the book, and the length - there's no need to write reams of pages though one could and, lots have. Chopra provides a prescription - easy to follow and succinct, it's a handy reminder that we choose to live our lives from an authentic and spiritual path, or choose to live from the ego More...

This was mostly great. A couple of the sections were a little too out there for me... But it's a process I suppose. I appreciated it's sinplicity and conciseness yet it was pretty thought provoking. Got the audiobook and will definitely revisit it often. (Is conciseness a word? Sounds dumb...)

Ended up getting this in the mail and reading it all in one day. Short sweet and to the point, so much better than those 300pg tomes with mountains of research about people that are happier than you. Deepak has an interesting way of looking at the world. Good advice.

This is a very short book by Deepak Chopra, just 139 pages. It was interesting but I have difficulty "getting into" this author's writings. I have tried other books of his and for some reason, they just don't speak to me.
Not a bad book, just not an aha! book for me.

I really liked this book. Features a lot of western thinking. Looking toward the Native Americans-a lot of their beliefs are present here. We are part of nature, not apart from nature.

Like all of his books a lot of it is mystic mumbo-jumbo but he always includes good quotes and I usually get a few good nuggets of wisdom or new perspectives in each read.

Listened to the Audible version of this while flying from KC to Oakland. It was cold with snow and ice everywhere when I left, and it was warm and sunny when I landed.

I like to read non-fiction in the AM. This is broken into short chapters which makes it a good choice. Some good suggestions.

1-1/2 stars. Reminds me of Buddist or Zen writings where I don't quite follow their line of thinking. To be fair, I did not spend much time with this - it may be the kind of thing where you could read a little bit and reflect on it and then get more out of it.

I didn't enjoy this as much as other books by Chopra I have read. His writings are always good reminders of what/how we should strive to live, but I didn't find much new or fresh in this particular book.
