Admittedly i only skimmed over the first couple of pages but that already led me to one very interesting conclusion.
Immediately prior to this book i read "Comfort Food" by Kitty Thomas, a book containing slavery and heavy-bdsm with no or at best dubious consent throughout the entire story.

Still, i find this book a whole lot creepier and scarier.

In "Comfort Food" at there is this whole theme and progression of intial resistance, stockholm-syndrom. And the kidnapper remains, despite discovery of h

This book starts off like every other erotic sci-fi romance. Before too long Theolyn Boese drags you in with her great characters and strong storyline. I read this when it first came out in ebook format and have read it umpteen times since. This whole series is wonderful but I don't know where the author has went. I (and other fans) have been waiting for a couple of years for the next installment. The author still has her web site up but hasn't updated it in years and doesn't answer emails. It i ...more

Wow I found that utterly confusing and I have to say I really did not like Thea's character or the story at all... There were lots of things that turned me off of liking the story, Thea's character, the confusing religious aspect, brain implants to 'calm' the kidnapped women... Rape... And thats just some of it.

I think the story was so confusing and lacked basic cohesion that the plot didn't match from one chapter to the next... I'm getting annoyed at how I wasted my time!!! Shall I read the nex

okay, it was like a train wreck and at first i couldnt look away but now i just cant do it anymore.

its like the author said, okay let me write and whatever idea comes to mind i'll jot down. and everything felt choppy.

i cant finish this! i have so many other books to read!

Love these books they're so interesting and different! I love all of the little details that the author put into the world building.

This is MMF. All three people- two guys and one girl, sleep together. I think that's hot!

Jaid Black did it better in the Trek Mi Q'an series.

Kidnapping and rape ARE NOT sexy.

Kyrin and Daeshen are two men of the Ta'e'sha people, very similar to humans but with the capacity to shapeshift like a merman. In their planet a virus has caused that all the women are sterile, so the Ta'e'sha men have decided to take humans women as brides. Only a little problem, they don't ask to the chosen before the mating. And kidnap them.

Kyrin and Daeshen are also lovers. But in the Ta'e'sha tradition, a family could be of six people, no matters what sex. So they decide to take a humans

I have a tendency to rant, and I know if I start with this one it'll be a long one. So I'm going to try really really hard to make this short, because anyone who looks doesn't deserve to have to go through it, and this thing does not deserve me wasting more time than I already have.

In terms of writing: Not too bad. Like a few others have pointed out, it does indeed get confusing with the switching of points of view. Sometimes in the same damned paragraph, which doesn't help at all. I also someti

This was one of those books that I always look again and read it again and again, its that good. But if you are not into some very harsh aspects of life then its not for you. What type of harsh, (view spoiler)

But if you want to read it... then go ahead but you are forewarned.

Plot is that another planets' people have to go to Earth to looks for mate or wife because that way they can reproduce. (view spo

Really enjoyed this book. I'm looking forward to reading book 2 in this series. You really feel connected to the characters and their story. It's a good shapeshifter/futuristic novel that will draw you in. There's a mix of erotica, suspense, and a little violence, but it was all handled rather well. You can't help but to fall in love with Kyrin and Daeshen, they're two men any woman would be happy to have. I'm always wary of ménage novels because I end up feeling like someone is the odd man out, ...more

Okay, I do understand that many people would not like to read this because we are given a glimpse of some pretty dark stuff. However, it is a book that you should read. It tells a great story and has started a series that looks to be promising. The characters are so lovable and the story is great. I could not put it down. This book will definitely bring you on a wild roller-coaster ride of emotions but it is worth the read. I cried and I laughed and got angry but all in all enjoyable.

poorly written and characters lacking - POV was confusing

Interesting story of an alien world whose women have been infected with a virus that renders them infertile. As the population begins to decline, the Ta'e'sha realize that they can mate with human women with some genetic revisions. They begin a program or voluntary and involuntary captures. The book uses some common sense. The woman's personal belongings are also taken, to help them maintain some semblance of normalcy in a very frightening event. They are careful to take only those without husba ...more

ok, lets see, the reviews range most neg. some are 5 star so I guess I have to read it to make my own conclusion... it does start strange,, looks like mer-people seem to think they are superior but will need human women to further the race or die out... so lets see where this well used plot out.. it is always no women or sterile women and the aliens or in this case mermen need women... humans... I thought it was shifter/werewolves... but I was wrong. I bought the series 'more than one book' so l ...more

I felt like I was reading a manga that was forced into a novel. It was unrealistic and the story felt forced and rushed [girl goes from raped to total compliance in what,.. 2 minutes..?]. The characters lacked depth and I could not get myself to connect with any of the characters.
If the story was a manga and done in manga style I think it would be ok. In it's current state,..... it's not my cup of tea....

The first 2/3 or so reminded me of a mix between Kaden's Breeder & the Cat Star Chronicles, but after that it was more it's own book.

I liked it. I'd be willing to read more in this series.

Revised Review
I've read this book now at least three times and continue to be fascinated by it so I'm raising my rating to a four. Thea is a wonderful, strong character who has been placed in a difficult position by being kidnapped from her life on Earth to be the wife of two alien men and chooses to find positives in her new life.

Kyran and Daeshen are well done as men whose consciences are troubled because their people have been placed in a position where they must either take breeding compati

Just frigging dumb! Not even written well! Apart from the sex which was steamy and only at the 1st 3rd of the book, it was just dumb! Don't waste your money!

I was completely surprised by this story. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. The story started off in the typical alien abduction way. Woman stolen for mating purposes. I found myself rolling my eyes and thinking that this story was just an excuse for porn. But then the plot developed and I really got to know and care about the characters. When Theo goes through something very traumatic and terrifying, I found myself crying and grieving with her. The author definitely didn't pull any ...more

I read the review to this before reading, to see if it qualified for a challenge.

Why does everyone compare this book, to books that aren't even remotely similar? IDK.

From the reviews, I was expecting a darker read. It's not dark.
was it HORRIBLE? not in the slightest. It was pretty good.

It left me with questions, but hey, it's a series, it's supposed to leave you with questions so you read the next one. It is well set up to leave you longing for more info.

I liked the extra special bodily parts,

This was an interesting read....while the story as a whole was good I really enjoyed the short chapters on the interactions of the Gods/Goddesses from the two worlds.... and their plotting.... definitely going to read the second one cause I just have to know what exactly Skye and Gaia have sent to their daughters....I loved this from the Epilogue"Your mission, should you choose to accept it...." First 2/3 of books I hated. It wasn't until the end that I really got into it. I even thought about not finishing it but I borrowed it for a challenge so I didn't want to waste a borrow on a book I didn't finish but near the end.....the book really redeemed itself.

I would have given it 4 stars if I didn't have such an issue with the beginning of the book.

Not a bad read --- but not my favorite.

The best I can really say is 'meh.' The world was interesting, but perhaps a bit too involved for how little explanation was given.

I wasn't a huge fan of the gods/goddesses parts because I constantly felt like I was only seeing a tiny corner in the puzzle. Sometimes that feeling is okay, but it was rather irritating in this instance.

So, the most I can muster is 'meh.' I'll be returning it.

Zero stars. Yuck. I want all the time I spend reading this back. I wish I could get a refund from Amazon for whatever I spent on this. Awful.
Why in the hell didn't I read other reviews before buying it???

I did updates as a read it if you want details.

There was NOTHING redeeming or enjoyable abut this book.
fuck. this. book.

While this is not my favorite menage book, or even my favorite futuristic/fantasy book I still liked it. The premise was interesting and the characters where good. (still not sure why the piercings where absolutly necessay but oh well) I liked it enough that I bought all the other books and am now awaiting any continuations that she will release.

Sci-fi? yes. Romance? uh-huh. Erotic? ok. Usually a recipe for I-have-to-read-this-again, "Daughters of Terra" was...okay. It was not bad but not unforgettable either. Like pudding that never sets, this had all the ingredients that I look for in a delicious read but never quite made it there.

The name Theolyn Boese is a pen name with a bit of history behind it. Theolyn, pronounced Thay-o-lyn, is my great grandmothers middle name on my mothers side of the family. The closest we've come to finding a definition is "divine lightning" or "power/ruler of the lake/pool/waterfall." It is Old English, but mom's family is from Norway.
