The whole series is wonderful-- I was sad to have finished it. I cried and laughed;; one of the reasons I moved to North Carolina-- to find a Mitford in my life. The characters are memorable; the events so real. Therecipes wonderful. Truely- read them all!!!!

I am rather hooked on the Mitford series. They are heartwarming books that introduce readers to a small, charming North Carolina town and its equally charming residents cared for and loved by a bachelor pastor. Lots of smiles and chuckles!

I liked the first book the most. It was a pleasant light read with wonderful Southern food laced throughout (being a fan of the South, myself). A little disappointing when, in the second book, and in my opinion, the supporting characters act unlike themselves--took on a whole new attitude. Certain events are drawn out too long, in my opinion.

I read the whole Mitford Years series while on bed rest during a difficult pregnancy. They were light and cute. The follow the life of a preacher in a small town. I got drawn in by the characters. It seems like there are some of the same people in our small town.

The Mitford books are fantastic, the only downside is when the series concludes you feel like you are losing family. The New Father Tim Series will hopefully fill the gap.
