Erneut auf einer Heimreise von New York (diesmal anscheinend per Schiff, warum auch immer) macht der Krimiautor und Privatdetektiv Paul Temple eine interessante Bekanntschaft. Not one of my favourites - this was written and published in the 70s/80s and it shows...the plot is a standard Temple mystery but what always confuses me is the timeline. If you are going by age, in the first book (1938) Temple is 40 and Steve is not quite 30. The plot was quite good, but the writing?!?! How did a book like this ever get published? I've seldom seen such poor writing seen from a purely literary point of view. Fortunately it was a short book, as I finished it out of pure stubbornness. I won't be reading any more books by him though.

It was rather old fashioned and very British, but the plot was good. Probably won't listen to any more. Too many "dahlings" and "lets have a cocktail" for me.
