I'm a little conflicted by this novel. It had moments of very insightful and moving vividness of the happiness and difficulties within relationships. Be those relationships between mothers and daughters or a women and her husband. Those were beautiful. The constant internal dialogs with the characters where annoying and drove me a little crazy because they slowed the entire story down. The entire book plot can be found on the blurb and so the story was predictable. Getting there was wonderful an...more
This book kept me up until the wee hours, as I couldn't turn out the light until I saw how it ended. If one is willing to suspend belief in coincidences, it's a romantic, satisfying love story.
Ellie was a teenage unwed mother whose baby was stolen from her. 22 years later, she's a successful psychologist, but her heart had been broken when she lost Bethanne, and never having been able to have another child, she is desperate to adopt. Two girls have promised her their babies, but changed th...more

This the story of a woman who soon after adopting a baby hears of a
kidnapping that sounds a lot like her child. The years pass with always a shadow of worry that the truth will come out.
This is a good story to challenge you to think about what you would be capable of, and how far you would go to protect your relationship with your child.

A good read, if a tad unbelievable. There a quite a few turns where i just said "What? that would never happen in the real world in a million years". But I guess that is the point with fiction... Tony is a bit too stereotypical. Horse jumping events scenes are kind of boring, maybe if you are a big equine fan you will like it. I skimmed those parts mostly. Ending wrapped up a bit too neatly.
This is one of my all time favorite family epics, It has great characters and twists and turns. I could not put it down and now look for any book by this author, because I enjoy the way she writes.
This melodrama had a lot going for it. The author took the long and meandering way to the conclusion - which made the story spend more time in the doldrums than on a fabulous sailing day.
This is 1st book I've read of this author. I knew by page 10 it was going to be one I couldn't put down; very good book; look forward to reading another one of her books.
This was a great read. Keeps your attention until the end. Even though you may think you know where the story line is heading - and it does get there - the twist at the end is great.
An enjoyable beach read. Secrets among three women against a horsey background. It was easy to see where this book was going and there were no great surprises. Pick it up only for a light quick read.
Story line was good but about half way through I was able to predict the ending. Would have liked to be surprised by the ending .... I am going to try one more of author's books and then move on to another author.
Easy predictable but enjoyable.
Good book.
Very good.
An ok read. Took too long of a "route" to get to the quite predictable ending.

I was born on the Fourth of July, and it's been fireworks ever since. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay area as one of six kids, I was never without a cast with which to stage my early theatrical productions, which included a musical rendition of "The Christmas Carol," in which I was Ebenezer Scrooge. I began writing at age eight, with short stories and poems, and I haven’t looked back...more
