"Holiday With a Vampire" is a quick twofer read from Silhouette Nocturne.

"A Christmas Kiss" by Merline Lovelace. Brett is on his way home when woman suddenly appears in front of his vehicle. After skidding off the road to avoid her, he's pretty unhappy when she appears to be a drunk. She's really a vampire who's a bit loopy from whatever the dentist gave her trying to fix a chipped canine tooth. ***A little disappointing as I felt a bit 'left hanging' wondering about her 'savage' boss. Otherwise...more

A Christmas Kiss by Merline Lovelace - 2 stars
I realize it is a short story, but was very formulaic. Vampire drugged up, goes home with cop. Circumstances force her to stay an extra day and somehow in that time even though they barely talk, they're in "forever" love. Didn't really care about the characters as I knew barely anything about them. The only interesting part of the story was with Sebastian and that got majorly short-changed.

The Vampire Who Stole Christmas by Lori Devoti - 3 stars

A Christmas Kiss (Lovelace) tells of the meeting between an Oklahoma State Trooper, Brett Cooper, and a vampire, Delilah Wentworth, in an incapacitated state from a dental numbing. She looks spaced out, without a car, in the middle of nowhere. There is a killer on the loose and he takes her home with him for her own protection. This was just weak; all the plot devices too obvious.
The Vampire Who Stole Christmas (Devoti) tells of a daemon, Aimee Polk, who meets up with vampire, Drystan Hurst. He...more

Overall review:
I undestand the draw, the appeal, the desire for the dark vampire. The whole 'I can be the savior' role. But does the eternal love have to happen in 3 days? There is no real emotional attachment after 3 days. There is physical attraction and need but can we be a little more realistic? Just a smidge?

A Christmass Kiss - Merline Lovelace
Interesting idea. Vamp girl duty bound to do her sires will but finds herself morally obligated to aide mortals and makes this her priority.

This book must've run short on word counts since the font was rather large as were the margins. Not that I'm complaining since that made it easier for me to read! LOL

I liked both stories in this one. Two different takes on vampires while still sticking tot he basic assumed rules of vampire romances.

I also had this one in print and eBook so I went back and forth between the two as needed, which was nice. However, most of it was read in print. It wasn't until the book was almost finished (and I w...more

This anthology features a story by one of my favorite Nocturne authors, Lori Devoti. In a departure from her other Nocturnes, this one is about a vampire, not shape-shifters. Though this is a Christmas anthology, the holiday has very little presence. If you’re looking for a book that’s doesn’t have all the trimmings (carols, gifts, decorating, etc.), then this book is a good choice.

A Christmas Kiss by Merline Lovelace - 2 stars. Too short for any time of character development. I wasn't emotionally invested in the characters or the story. Just not for me.

The Vampire Who Stole Christmas by Lori Devoti - 1 star. Again, I couldn't get attached to either character. Writing felt very, very awkward.

Both stories felt like the authors were "vampire romance amateurs" and really didn't know how to write about them.
It was okay. The first story was better than the second one. I would even like to know more about what happened to the MC in the first story.

I really enjoyed the Vampire Who Stole Christmas. It was an Angel/Vampire combo and who doesn't love a good Angel-Vampire romance?
