Matt is an expert and the Chase is on. Tate doesn't stand a chance.

Book Four In the Chase Brothers Series.

Tate Murphy is a girl from the wrong side of the tracks. She grew up a million miles away from the easy life Matt Chase has had. She's spent her life pulling herself and her siblings up and out of that trailer by the railroad tracks and she hasn't looked back. Matt Cha...more

Ok. This one made me cry. That doesn't happen often, and I will remember it.

Matt is the last Chase brother to find love. Like his brothers before him, he has no trouble finding dates. He did have a serious relation ship a few years back with Liv, who is now married to his brother, Marc. He never loved her, and at time he never understood why.

Tate Murphy had a very rough childhood. Being the oldest of eight children of abusive alcoholic parents, she was forced to take care of her younger sibling...more

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Finally finally finally, the last Chase brother is snatched up in Making Chase.

"Matthew Chase! You can't love me! I'm a fat little nobody from the wrong side of the road..."
~Tate

Tate Murphy is the second eldest of eight. She is a small business owner and has been more of a mother to her brothers and sisters than the woman who bored them in to this world. Her father is a drunk asshole and should only be referred to as such. Never in...more

I am having trouble deciding which Chase Brother I want for myself. Although I love them all, I have to say that Matt is my favorite. I love all of the books, but I think that Making Chase was my favorite one in the series.
Tate Murphy has had to work hard all of her life. She has a disfunctional family to say the least, and her siblings depend on her for just about everything. She had to grow up fast because of her horrible parents (I HATED THEM) and because she has grown up on the wrong side of...more

If I could give this book, heck this whole series 10 stars I would. I loved everything about every one of the books in the Chase Bros series. I am sad, I am done reading and there are no more Chase boys to read about!

Matt is my favorite of the Chase boys because he could see what was on the inside of Tate. I love how he found her to be so sexy, and how he told her all the time. Despite what the people of Petal thought, she was beautiful and special to him and he never let her...more

5 stars – Contemporary Romance

Although I’m depressed there are no more Chase brothers to dream about and drool over, this was a very satisfying conclusion to the wonderful, feel-good Chase Brothers series. I love all four brothers and would take any of them in a heartbeat, but I think Shane and Matt are my favorites. Making Chase is my second favorite book in the series, close behind Taking Chase.

Firefighter Matt is the handsomest Chase brother, and after watching his three brothers find happine...more

Love, so much love to go around! Holy cow! I have never seen anything like it.

What to know what this book is about? Love. How much everyone loves each other-even though they are all married. Yes, you love your parents, sisters or brothers in law, but these people take it to a whole new level. If they're not saying I love you, they're saying how beautiful and gorgeous and pretty they all are. Ugh. GAG ME! I mean, how many times can one person say I love you? Its like in every other paragraph. I a...more

I can't believe this series is over! I have loved every second and all four books are re-read definites for me.

What a wonderful end to the series.

Prettiest Chase brother Matt has had an easy life so far with everything he ever needed handed to him on a plate. He has never had to work hard for anything, not that he is lazy or complacent, but he is just one of those fortunate people who has been blessed in life.

Tate has struggled and worked hard for everything she has. She has been handed a bum de...more

I liked this story very much. I really like the Chase brothers and their family. You can't help but like this book, when Matt (in my opinion the most delicious of the Chase brothers) decides to fall in love with a girl from the wrong side of town.

It's one of those feel good stories where the rich hunk from the best family in town falls for the hardworking, heart of gold, pulled herself and her family up by the bootstraps, dumpling girl. She spends most of the book wondering why her, and all of...more

God dammit. God dammit.

I'm so... I'm pissed, but relieved, but annoyed and frustrated all at the same time. I'm so not happy right now, but there is still this sense of accomplishment that comes from finishing a series, you know? And that feels like success. But it's not. Not in this case.

I'll just go ahead and throw out the SPOILER WARNING, because I'm about to rant this shit up and blah blah blah, can't be held responsible, whatever.

So. Get this. Lauren Dane, who I totally forgot is the author...more

Okay where to begin, this book was an okay read for me I would say. When I first started it, it was cute and funny but after a while it got boring and repetitive. In my opinion it moved a little too fast with the falling in love and everything else, it just seemed like the author was trying to cram as much information as possible into every chapter. What really irked me the most were Tate's insecurities, I understood that she had a horrible childhood and it made her extremely wary but it just se...more

Making Chase is really good for those who want to see unconventional pairings come together. Have you ever wondered how a hot guy can move past his ego to see the true beauty within a woman? Tate Murphy is a salon owner and stylist and can't get enough of seeing her eye candy from a distance, Matt Chase. He is one sight to see.

Lauren Dane conveys the heat and passion of the electricity between Tate and Matt. Matt is the last unwed Chase and he is definitely not into anyone. He is however, looki...more

(May) The final installment in the Chase Brothers series. I loved Tate most of the time - great heroine. I like how LD writes her books over a period of months or longer, so the love makes sense - it's not just meet/love/marriage in two weeks. That said, there seems to be a lot of telling instead of showing in her books - and her "villains" are really over the top - I mean, really - women in their 30's harrassing someone for being poor or fat - just didn't ring true (I thought for sure the mean-...more

With this last book I was surprised by it. I liked that Tate wasn't the "perfect" woman, that she was more normal, I did get tired of her self degradation. I know her family life was crap and she had issues, but it got old fast. I also thought that at the start Matt was a little patronizing. I found it interesting how many times he had to be told that people would be saying/thinking bad things about Tate due to her family. He just didn't get it, not even after experiencing it a couple of times.

Not at all what I expected; a delightful and sweet character/relationship-driven romance (4 stars)

This is my first book by Lauren Dane and it was not at all what I had expected. Since a lot of her books are categorized as erotica, I wasn't really sure how story-driven this would be, but to my great surprise it was almost all focused on the hero and heroine's character and relationship development and read like a regular contemporary romance. Tate was a wonderful heroine - strong yet vulnerable a...more

Making Chase

Book 4 of 4

The final book in the Chase series is probably one of the most realistic books I've ever read. They say opposites attract and it couldn't be more true than in this story.

Tate Murphy grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. An alcoholic father – that everyone knows is really not her father – and a mother who didn't care to stick around all the time. As the oldest of a brood of children, she sees it as her responsibility to make sure everyone is taken care of....more

Tate Murphy couldn't believe her eyes when she opened them, and found herself staring into Matt Chase's handsome face. She had lusted after him from afar for many years, and to have finally met him after being hit by a car was disconcerting. He is a fireman, so of course came running when the accident happened. He had never met her before, but Matt couldn't get Tate out of his mind after her close call, and when she brought him homemade cookies as a thank you, that gave him the perfect opportuni...more

The final stereotype plotline. The last single Chase brother is up for grabs and every available woman is after him. Where does he find love? Well, right across the street with a woman who has been there for years but he never noticed. Of course, she is a girl from "the wrong side of the tracks" and additionally not a "beauty" like the ones he usually goes after. Tate is a hairdresser with multiple siblings she has raised since childhood due to her alcoholic abusive father and mostly AWOL mom. C...more

As I read I was feeling like something was off, and I think with this novel I figured out what was bugging me. The fights. They are over so quickly, it feels like the Brady Bunch, how they apologize so quickly and it's over and everything is great again. The brothers, the couples, the only ones that seem to last is whoever is being 'chased'. I know not all arguments will last and be drawn out but others would be harder to get over in just a few seconds like what happened throughout this series.

3.5 on the book, but a 5 on the series as a whole--Why didn't Polly and Edward Chase have more than 4 sons? LOL I love this family and I'm sad there are no more books about them. Even though I didn't care as much for this book as I did the others, this is still a fantastic series that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Matt is a great guy, but I did not care for Tate at all. I spent most of the book rolling my eyes at things she did, then she'd do something really nice and normal and I'd think, "maybe I'm not...more

I found this book to be my favorite, what a way to end it...I cried many times with this one, and that rarely happens, the characters were written so well and all of the emotions were described on detail, the whole series is wonderful but again, this is my fab..Tate is from the wrong side of town and she worked so hard to get where she is, and she takes care of every member of her family, and does it very well, she is a little heavier than what has become the norm in most romance books, but that...more

By far, my favorite Chase Brother book of them all! Absolutely loved it!

This is a pretty simple read, probably best reserved for a day when you have nothing better to do. Some parts seemed just a bit unrealistic or contrived. I loved the story but the storytelling just seemed off. For example, since when is a firefighter considered too good for a beautician? I had a hard time getting past the fact that their worlds were considered to be so different. Even if she did come from a trailer and he came from the better part of the town, it's still a small town where every...more

OMG! This was so so good, probably my favourite of the four books in the series, but that is most likely because I could identify with it so much. The biggest thing for me in this book, was that the main female character, Tate, was not a stick thin, beauty queen type and actually had curves and short legs lol! It was just so refreshing to read a story that was realistic and recognised that people fall in love with all kinds of partners, and that the world doesn't consist of just 'perfect' people...more

I just absolutely LOVED this installment! a GR friend rated it a 5 but said she could rate it a 6 and i agree!!

This book I honestly don't have the words to express how emotionally friken fantastic it was!!

Matt was by far the best of all 4 brothers! The way he treated Tate ***sigh***

My heart just broke to a million pieces for Tate and had me teary on a few occasions!

This series is a DEFINITE must read!!!

This was a good conclusion to the Chase brothers series (I'm kind of hoping that she has some about the Murphy siblings, but I haven't looked yet).

Matt Chase is the most handsome of the Chase brothers - and the last one single. He's used to being underestimated because of his looks, and he despairs of ever finding true love like his brothers did. Tate Murphy is from the other side of the tracks, and between that and her figure - she's plus-sized - she doesn't think she has a chance in hell with...more

Of the four books in Dane's Chase brothers series, I liked this one best. The hero and heroine were wonderful as a couple, and while her family is - and his family remains - too good to be true, it all sort of came together. Unlike some of the other installments in this series, this one wasn't too long. Had the town of Petal not been filled with so many truly hateful adults, this one would have earned an unqualified recommendation. Books one and two also featured outlandish behavior that failed...more

Lauren Dane has been writing stories since she was able to use a pencil, and before that she used to tell them to people. Of course, she still talks nonstop, and through wonderful fate and good fortune, she’s now able to share what she writes with others. It’s a wonderful life!

The basics: Lauren is a mom, a partner, a best friend and a daughter. Living in the rainy but beautiful Pacific Northwest,...more
