Erin wasn't looking for love when she met Nate, all she wanted was to forget - just for a moment - the tragic event that shaped her life. Twelve years ago her soul mate Kevin died in a car accident and she lost their unborn child. She spent the last decade alone, not willing to risk her heart again. And then she met Nate. He was different, there was a connection between them from the start. She might have just let him go, if there wasn't a baby they created together.

The last thing Nate expected

Erin was another survivor of the prom night fire in Troublesome Gulch. She lost the love of her life, her fiancee Kevin and her unborn baby and suffered extensive burns. She is now an engineer and works as a fire-man and has become an expert in pretending that she is fine, but she's actually a mess inside, she has never dealt with what happened and has never dated much less kissed anyone since Kevin. A fire-call makes her recall it all and she goes running to a bar in Denver, where she starts da ...more

I loved it! For the first time since I started reading these types of books, I found a couple who were not trying to get back at each other over being kept in the dark.

When firefighter Erin Deluca sees a young pregnant woman mourning her husband who was killed in the fire she was responding too, the memories of her prom night over 10 years ago came crashing over her.

The memory of the car crash that took the life of her boyfriend Kevin and their unborn child along with a few of her friends won't

Erin was one of the survivors from the prom night crash, she had lost her fiance Kevin and her unborn baby in the crash. She was beaten, bruised and part of her heart and soul had been missing since that day. She became a firefighter to stop fires and help out people. One night, a very pregnant woman lost her husband in a fire and it brought everything back up for Erin. So she went to a bar to go dancing and feel nothing, only to be rescued by Nate. Nate took her back to his hotel and they made ...more

I didn't realize until I'd gotten through most of this book that it was part of a series - and I'd actually read the first book quite a while ago! While I remember enjoying the first book, I have to say that this one was very well written, more so than I remember from the first novel. We get great angst and drama, and Nate, the hero, manages to retain his masculinity while allowing the heroine to work out her drama in her own time. The ending felt a bit rushed, but I enjoyed the rest of the book ...more

**Since I'm intimately familiar with the blood, sweat, and tears that go into producing a book, I will only be listing my 4-and 5-star reads. We don't all like the same fare (as is evidenced by some of the Goodreads ratings on my own work!), so if I don't love a book, you won't see it on my page. I'm not interested in bashing anyone else's creative efforts or negatively influencing anyone's readin ...more
