I don't know what possessed me to read a book called "The Demon Rake." Much too over-the-top. And I despise rakes. However, the book was mostly just overly long and boring. The author kept the couple apart for far too long, on a very flimsy pretext. I wish I could get those two hours of my life back.
This book felt like it was at least 600 pages not 240.
