Recommends it for: Anyone interested in art

This was one of the first books my boyfriend (who is in love with the abstract expressionism movement) got me to introduce me to the world of abstract expressionism. The author's writing style flows nicely and doesn't overwhelm the reader with too much information. The book is ideal for those who are new to abstract expressionism, and is packed with great quality images of paintings (and other works of art) from the abstract expressionism movement. Shelves: do-it-yourself
Most of the artists in this book died in New York, though born all over the world. The pictures in this book inspired me to think of shapes and colors with and without formulas.
