As a physical therapist and mother of two young pitchers, I found this to be a worthwhile read. It is wordy at times and I think that while the research is important (obviously) as the reader I found it somewhat tedious and some of the elaborations unnecessary. I'm willing to concede that Tom House is an expert and that the book is based on research. Bottom line, I just wanted the bottom line.

That said, it's a great book that focuses on dispelling many of the conventional wisdoms about pitching that have been perpetuated through the ages and that were limited by our inability to see something that happens very quickly. Technology has changed everything and for a science freak like me...it's exciting.

There is an increased emphasis on not only allowing but also encouraging a pitcher's signature motion and instead focusing on efficiency and consistency...like so many things (athletically speaking) it starts with balance and posture and a good core.
