I just love stories with lots of angst, hurt feelings, and a great resolution! Cameron Dane gave me all of this in Aidan and Ethan, which is the first in a new series.

Aidan and Ethan were best friends in High School. They did everything together and were practically inseparable. After graduation day, they were relishing in their new found freedom, when they both realize that they feel the same way about each other. Ethan had wanted Aidan from the moment they met, and Aidan felt the More...

^^ WHEN A BOOK PISSES YOU OFF SO GOOD!^^

Holy mother of pearl, diamonds and earth, this book lighted my fire quick and then outed it with some cold ass water. Dont get me wrong I loved the book, Cameron knows how to write intensity and wild sex. My beef is the so called detrimental reason why one man ended up leaving the love of his.

So Aidan and Ethan meet why some snooty rich kids was bothering Aidan on the job, Ethan steps in and BAM! instand friends. Well the friends More...

Aidan and Ethan meet when they were teenagers. As their high school years passed, the two become quite close. Then, the day after graduating and admitting their feelings for each other, Aidan mysteriously leaves town. He returns twelve years later, popping up in Ethan's life during a stress-filled time.

I've loved all Dane's books so far. This one is no exception. I enjoyed the plot, liked the characters, etc. However, if you like your romance/erotica without a lot of angst, you More...

This book tried to tug at my heartstrings but never brought it home for me. I know better than to try the long lost love books so it is really my fault. These plots rarely have a good enough reason for abandoning their love with no contact for years and this one is no differnt.

Aidan takes off and abandons his best friend one day after realizing that Ethan is also the love of his life. 13 years later after securing a job back in his hometown, Aidan returns and expects to pick up wher More...

A book about forgiveness and true love. Had some emotional angst, but was a quick and easy read. Great ending.

Ethan and Aidan are high school best friends, both somewhat outcasts but bond together. Neither will acknowledge their growing romantic feelings towards the other until graduation when they finally admit the truth and make plans for their future. Little does Ethan know that when he goes to see Aidan the next day, the boy has taken off without a word and disappears for 13 years.

Thirteen years is a very long time to be gone, without an explanation and when Aidan shows up again in Redem More...

hirteen years ago Aidan disappeared in the dead of night, but he is home now. Aidan has come home to take the job of chief of the fire department and to reconnect with his brother and sister. He wants Ethan back too. Unable to forget their kiss, Aidan wants to explain why he went away, and he wants a second chance to win Ethan’s heart.
From Liquid Silver Books.

It wasn't incredibly HORRIBLE, but it wasn't GOOD, either ...

Aidan left Ethan abruptly and without explanation for 13 years. Fact. His reasons for leaving - good ones, for perhaps a young teen. An 18 yr old just-about-man? Um, no. Plus it goes into the lament of 'oh, he could have lost his siblings again', but never says why/how he lost them to begin with. Because they were mad at him when he was uber bad back in Texas? eh...

Now to Ethan - who is a complete and total @$$h More...

This book was shorter than I expected but I actually really liked it. Aidan Morgan and Ethan Ashworth were best of friends in High School. The day of graduation, they finally admitted to their mutual attraction and one perfect kiss and one promise for the future made it the happiest day of their lives. The next day Aidan was gone.

13 years later, Aidan returns to become the chief of the local fire department where Ethan is a volunteer firefighter. Aidan says that he came back fo More...

Aidan and Ethan were best friends in high school. On the day of graduation they finally became aware that they both had feelings for each other. After a magical night where they made plans together for the future and developed a strong physical connection Ethan wakes up the next day to a horrible truth - Aidan has left without saying good-bye. I didn't like this as much as Renecade but more than Ultimate Kink. Aidan's reason for taking off and never contacting Ethan for ten years (IIRC) wasn't good enough for me and I could empathise with Ethan's reaction when Aidan returns. Still, Dane's m/m romances are better than many out there and she's an auto-buy as long as it's not paranormal.

Okay I get it, if you love someone you love him always and forever, but damn it, not being in contact 12 or 13 years it's just to much off all good. It's totally exaggerated a big turn off in this book. If you love someone you wanna be with him somehow, at list not being away from him. That's just shit in my eyes, loll.

I really liked this story even though I had a major problem with it. Aidan is gone from the town of Redemption for 13 years. Why did he leave? Well that would be a spoiler and I won’t give that away. That element of the story is believable. What isn’t believable for me is that Aidan never tries to reach his “best friend” and lover in all of those 13 years to explain what happened; especially since his two siblings remained in town with his parents. The sight of them in a small town with no w More...

I wish I could meet Ethan and tell him that he was a bit heartless and stubborn and selfish and rude. I don't like drama queens, Ethan! Aidan is so lovely, he bares himself to Ethan and the things he has to endure just to make the other guy listen to him... He has all my sympathies.

I didn't like the way the flashbacks were incorporated in the story, they weren't so smooth and they disrupted the rhythm of the narration.

Although I had to suspend my disbelief quite a lot, I More...

This was one of those books that grabbed me right from the beginning and I didn't want to put it down; definitely worth the couple of hours of sleep I lost by staying up late to finish it!

I really enjoy the premise of lost love being reunited as was the case with this book. The one aspect of it that I struggled with a bit was the fact that Aidan especially didn't make one single attempt to contact Ethan during the 13 years they were apart. I could sort of buy into his rationale, More...

I've always been a sucker for the separated childhood sweethearts trope. Perhaps its the endless romantic in me, or some yearning for my own childhood sweetheart, but the idea that a separation because of some external force keeping true love apart and then overcoming the obstacles has always hit me in the sweet spot. Dane manages to pretty much push all the buttons in this novella. Aidan and Ethan were best friends in high school, and after one glorious afternoon, where they discovered that More...

Ms Dane is an author I have been hearing so much good things about and after reading three of her books for the read-a-thon a few months ago – I pick up the Seeking Redemption series after reading some good thing about it.

Right from the outset I thought the blurb on AIDAN AND ETHAN was too long and to be honest the story does not veer far from it. Small town scenario about two boys in the first stage of first crush/love that went so wrong. One stayed behind and did good only to have More...

I'm no a person who forgive easily, that's make it that I didn't buy Aidan excuse.
I'm not a romantic person, so I didn't buy the 'I love you event if I didn't see you for 13 years'.
I'm a rational person, Ethan immature, emotionality instable personality irritated me.

I can't be sure that's it's a good book since a lot of thing's were not my cup of tea. It's well writing, but the whole scenario was just too cheesy for me. I had the impression of reading a Harlequin book.

I struggle between a 4-5 stars. Loved the book! It was a quick read very emotional story. It starts with Aidan basically running away after admitting his love for Ethan at age 18. Fast forward 13 years and he comes back hoping to see Ethan again. Of course, the hurt Ethan felt after being abandoned was too much to just forget. The scenes were well written so that I could feel their hearts breaking as they met for the first time again and each time they had to face each other. I ended up readi More...

This book was rec'd to me by a fellow member of the M/M romance group for a challenge and I probably wouldn't have read it otherwise. I prefer meatier erotica but though Aidan & Ethan's story was less than 100 pages at the end I was surprisingly satisfied. Sure there are A LOT of cheesy lines...I don't care what any one says cock does not stimulate a tastebud explosion analogous to Poprocks *shakes head in disbelief* but it was a fun, compact, and touching read. ;D

This angst-filled story of high school friends falling in love and then separating for over ten years was nice but ultimately not as satisfying as I'd expected. Aidan and Ethan reveal their feelings to each other right after graduation but inexplicably the next day Aidan's run off and left Ethan behind. Poor Ethan is left heartbroken since there's not a note or phone call or anything from Aidan in all those years. Then all of a sudden he's back and ready to make everything right again. This book was an excellent read. It had all of the elements for a good romance. I found the author did a wonderful job and I definitely recommend this to anyone with an open mind and heart. Absolutely loved Aidan and Ethan (even though he annoyed me at times). I found the characters strong and humorous and I will definitely be looking into more books by this author.

I can't decide between a 2 star or 3 star review. There were parts of the book I enjoyed but overall I thought it was lacking something but I just can't put my finger on what it is. It needed more back story and the first actual sex scene made me cringe.

Plotwise, this felt like one of the weaker books by Cameron Dane. Aidan and Ethan were hot together but I didn't find the reason that kept them apart for thirteen years very convincing and—even though the romantic in me purred contentedly—the whole "I didn't have sex with anyone else all this time because I only wanted you" thing was a little hard to swallow.

But hey. This was an angst-free story about two mouthwatering firefighters who had smokin' hot sex with each other. R More...
