Als sich die Freundschaft tatsächlich ergibt, zeigt Christa plötzlich ein ganz anderes Gesicht. Es ist zu spät, stellt Blanche verzweifelt fest: &#132;Ich hatte verloren ... Es hatte mich nie gegeben.&#147;<p> Das Buch erinnert stark an den damaligen, beachtlichen Erstlingserfolg von Anne- Sophie Brasme <em>Dich schlafen sehen</em>. Auch hier spielt die Freundschaft von zwei ungleichen Mädchen die zentrale Rolle, auch hier ist die Ich-Erzählerin die schwache, die, die unterworfen, beherrscht, dominiert wird. Dennoch hier anders, nicht im Tagebuchstil, sondern lebhafter, viele Dialoge, viel innerer Gedanken-Disput, rege Rede und Gegenrede, wenn Gut und Böse miteinander streiten. Die Seelenqualen einer 16-jährigen, mitten in der Pubertät, literarisch dargestellt in Form einer Protagonistin, die sehr überzeugt, in ihrem Leiden, Empfinden, ihrer Wut und Enttäuschung glaubhaft und sehr real erscheint. Christa, die zur &#132;Antichrista&#147; wird, das ist das &#132;Miststück&#147;, die &#132;Besatzerin&#147;, die mit dem &#132;Expansionsbedürfnis&#147;. &#132;Ihre Falschheit verschlug mir die Sprache. Die Freude über die gewonnene Traum-Freundin schlägt schnell um, als Blanche die perfiden Absichten der nach außen Perfekten und Schönen erkennt. Wer bis zur völligen Unterwerfung alles hinnimmt, sinnt eben irgendwann auf Rache: &#132;Ich werde dich zerschmettern wie einen Wurm ... Die Apokalypse war nahe!&#147;<p> Es ist die ganz eigene und so erfolgreiche Art der Amélie Nothomb: ungemein unterhaltsam, dabei niveauvoll, zutiefst boshaft, aber hinreißend und reizvoll, ausgesprochen klug konstruiert und dabei den Anschein erweckend, als sei der Roman einfach wie nebenbei locker hingeschrieben. L'une, Blanche, est crédule, mal dans sa peau, celle qu'on ne remarque nulle part, qu'on embrasse peut-être parce qu'elle n'est pas &quot;plus moche qu'une autre&quot;. L'autre, Christa, est impétueuse, tyrannique, belle et charmeuse, envoûtante, sollicitée. Quand Christa pose son regard sur Blanche, celle-ci se plonge d'emblée dans les délices d'une amitié qu'elle n'a jamais eue, dans la complicité, la confiance partagée, de rires en confessions. Elle ne sait pas, et ne comprend pas qu'elle a déjà glissé du côté des rapports masochistes imposés par une jeune fille diabolique, se livrant aux mensonges et aux abus... qui feraient d'elle moins une Christa charitable et affable qu'une Antéchrista effrayante. <br/> Une fois de plus, Amélie Nothomb parvient à dessiner des personnages denses, dotés d'une psychologie complexe.
