I love the Stephanie Plum books, but these "between the numbers" books haven't thrilled me as much, although this is probably the best of the three so far (Visions of Sugar Plums; Plum Lovin'.) It's rather like eating the crumbs of Stephanie's favorite Tastee Cakes, but us diehard fans will take what we can get until Fearless Fourteen comes out in June. So far, these books have been centered around holidays: Christmas, Valentine's Day, and now St. Patrick's Day. Grandma Mazur takes off with a du...more

Stephanie Plum has a way of attracting danger, lunatics, oddballs, bad luck... and mystery men. And no one is more mysterious than the unmentionable Diesel. He's back and hot on the trail of a little man in green pants who's lost a giant bag of money. Problem is the money isn't exactly lost. Stephanie's Grandma Mazur has found it, and like any good Jersey senior citizen she's high-tailed it in a Winnebago to Atlantic City and hit the slots. With Lula and Connie in tow, Stephanie attempts to brin...more

I’ve already said this… I am not a fan of these In-Between Novellas. They simply don’t fit. It almost feel like the author said “Let me write a little something, I could use the cash for a new extension on the house.” Stephanie and her parade of characters are present, and always entertaining. But the supernatural, special ability people don’t work for me.

It’s St-Patty’s Day and Grandma Mazur found a bag of cash at the end of a rainbow. That’s all she’s been waiting for, and she hits the road....more

This was my first Janet Evanovich book and I have to say I'm not a big fan. I had high expectations because I had heard from a lot of different people that her books are great, but this one didn't live up to the hype! The book was a quick read and got me laughing a few times, but it was TOO ridiculous in my opinion. Will I try another Evanovich some day? Probably...but next time I'll be at the pool giving it only 1/2 of my attention!!!

I love Janet Evanovich and the Stephanie Plum series. Nice short book I read in two evenings. Not as good as the "numbers" series b/c Morelli and Ranger weren't really involved.

Audio books make the commute fly by on most occasions and Janet Evanovich's Plum Lucky, a Between-the-Numbers novel, is no exception. My husband and I seem to be hooked on these Between-the Numbers novels because they are humorous, ridiculous in some instances, and fast-paced.

Stephanie Plum and Diesel are back on the hunt, but not for Sandy Claws this time--Snuggy O'Connor who thinks he's a leprechaun. This little person not only thinks he's a leprechaun, but that he can disappear from sight on...more

Needing a quick read ? Something light-hearted and easy to digest ? Enjoying the Stephanie Plum Series ?

Plum Lucky takes us to the month of March where the world of Trenton is celebrating St. Patrick's Day and Grandma Mazur is missing and Stephanie's hunky random guy Diesel has shown up once again. I have to say firstly that Stephanie is never short of hunky guys, the only problem is that they are all labelled with that prone to non-commitment label attached. The journey to find Grandma Mazur w...more

A fast light read that was fun. I was recommended this author by two friends and decided to give her a try. Her writing was funny and a fast, easy read. There was enough action to keep me interested but not so much I couldn't put the book aside for more important tasks (is there anything more important than finishing your book?). This author might be a good choice for me if I really crave reading and life won't let me have my fill.
Over all the story is a bit of adventure and a lot of silliness....more

As a between the numbers Stephanie Plum novel, Plum Lucky hits the perfect note of sassy, fun and fast paced. The narrator of Plum Lucky, Lorelei King, does an amazing job of setting the right tempo and hitting the lines in just the way you imagine them in your mind.

I enjoy the Stephanie Plum novels, but I don't wait with baited breath for their release. In fact, I've only read a few so I'm trying to go back and catch up with the story. When I’m in the mood for a spunky, light read, I know that...more

this book was funny. I found myself laughing out loud several times at the crazy incidents. That being said, there is a lot of foul language in it. The main character, Stephanie Plum, who's telling the story (first person), doesn't swear, but she lives in Trenton New Jersey. I suppose it wouldn't be realistic if the mobsters she has to interact with in this book *didn't* curse, though. So be fairwarned.

But it was quite funny, complete with a little man of eastern european descent who was convinc...more

Grandma Mazur is missing and Stephanie Plum, with the help of Diesel, and the girls from the office (Lulu and Connie) tracks her down in Atlantic City, gambling with what turns out to be a Mobsters (Lou Delvina) money. Grandma Mazur has stumbled into the money (literally) and since it is St. Patrick’s day, she believes that the leprechaun (Snuggy O’Connor) has left her the duffel bag full of money at the end of a rainbow. That leprechaun had other plans for the money, he wanted to save an old ra...more

The "between the numbers" books, in my opinion, don't add anything to the rest of the series, though they can be fun for the hardcore fans.

In this installment, Stephanie's Grandma Mazur finds a duffel bag full of money, and goes off to Atlantic City to spend it. Diesel, who only shows up in these books and is never mentioned in the main timeline, appears because he's looking for the guy who stole the money in the first place. Turns out the guy thinks he's a leprechaun, and can talk to animals.

I generally dislike the Between the Numbers books.. but so far I have disliked this one less than the others.

That doesn't mean I particularly liked it, but I certainly liked it more than the others.

And I am glad that a serious plot for the Numbers books didn't happen in this one.

Why? Because here is an example.. My sister just read through the series, she didn't know about the Between the Numbers books, so she missed everything that happened in those books, she is just now reading them but it ir...more

My first read by this popular author and now I know what the buzz is about!

This was a quick read, fun and fast paced. Liked the unique characters and situations.

Part of the Stephanie Plum series. Stephanie, a bounty hunter, finds her Grandma has discovered a large duffel bag with LOTS of money in it. Grandma is off testing her luck in the casinos of Atlantic City. Stephanie and her pals try to recover Grandma, feisty Grandma gets held hostage in the process, some of the money dwindles in gambl...more

This book was laugh-out-loud funny! It reminded me of the Keystone Cops on the old silent films with everyone running in all directions and bumping into each other in hilarious ways. I think this is the funniest book of the Stephanie Plum series. I had to stop reading several times because I was laughing out loud. It's not high-brow, but it sure made my day.

This is another 'Between the Numbers' books that features Stephanie Plum, Diesel, Lulu, Grandma Mazur and the usual collection of off-beat c...more

Not one of the better Stephanie Plum novels, this one did not capture my attention as well as some of the numbered novels. I find it incredibly discouraging that several the characters are in almost the exact same place in their lives as they were in book one. While it did have some interesting twists, overall it just fell flat.

This is turning out to be a series you really have to read in order. Janet Evanovich gives enough recap that you understand how Stephanie, a clumsy woman whose impatience...more

*This book is part of my personal library*

In Plum Lucky Stephanie and the gang are up to their usual antics. Grandma Mazur finds a duffle bag and takes off for Atlantic City in a RV with Randy Briggs driving.

Stephanie and Lulu head to Atlantic City to find grandma and the money before the mobster Delvina finds her. While there they run into Diesel and the antics begin. Diesel is hunting for Snuggy, a former jockey, who is looking for grandma because she has the stol...more

My ratings system is as follows. One star is GOOD. The book is entertaining, easy to read and you don't want to stop reading because something about the book is compelling you not to. Two stars is GREAT! This time the story is not only entertaining, but highly creative, unique, easy to read and hard to put down. Three stars is EXCELLENT. Here the book has all aspects of one and two stars, but now the book is thought and emotionally provoking. Four is AWESOME. This is the read that is not only cr...more

This is one of the between-the-numbers mysteries in the Stephanie Plum series, and like the 'B' side of an old 45 record, you get through it and realize it had to be bundled with something better or it would have never gotten anywhere on its own.

Though it stars Stephanie and contains familiar characters like Lula, Connie, and Grandma Mazur, all the things that make the 'numbers' novels good are missing--the sexual tension between Morrelli, Stephanie and Ranger; the high-stakes bond job, and Step...more

When grandma Mazur found a duffle bag full of cash, she disappeared. Worried, Stephanie’s mother asked her to find her grandma and Stephanie tracked down her grandma at a casino in Atlantic City. Stephanie then learns that grandma Mazur got the money from Snuggy (who thinks he’s a leprechaun). Snuggy was after grandma and the money. And Diesel was after Snuggy and the money. It turned out that Snuggy stole the money from a mob. The mob was pissed. So he kidnapped Doug as hostage. But apparently,...more

This was my first Janet Evanovich book, so I didn't quite know what to expect. No, that's not right - I had absolutely no clue was I was getting into. A man steals money from a thug who kidnaps his pet horse only to lose the money and be found by Stephanie Plum's grandmother (Plum is the main character/bounty hunter)on the way to the casino - as she is escaping from the controlling thumb of her daughter, Plum's mother. Plum, with the help of one of her three boyfriends, connives plans to raise t...more

Laughed my ass off, it was so incredibly ridiculous and I adored it. It wasn't even trying to pass off as believable, it was so incredible unbelievable to the point that I would classify it as a self-deprecating book. I personally am a huge fan of self-deprecating humor anyhow. The main guy in the book somehow taking off girls' bras... while they're awake... without them knowing it... I seriously just laugh and think 'what the fuck?' Sleeping on top of each other just because that's apparently t...more

Stephanie Plum and friends are at it once again in this between the numbers book. It’s just a quick teaser because Fearless Fourteen comes out June 17, 2008.

Grandma Mazur stumbles upon a duffel bag full of money, and goes to Atlantic City to gamble. She is followed by a short man wearing green (who wants to be a leprechaun) trying to steal the money from her. Stephanie must find her grandmother and save her from a toad like mobster. Connie, Lula, and Diesel are her co-conspirators in this crazy...more

This is just one of Evanovich's 'in-between the numbers' novel and is set around St. Patrick's Day or more so the day after. We are again are introduced to the supernatural Diesel who is hunting a man who thinks he is a leprechaun and has lost a duffle bag of money. Stephanie's mad but loveable Grandma Mazur has found it and taken off to Altantic City for a spending spree. So all the Trenton gang go for a short break to Altantic City to bring her home.

These 'in-betweeners' keep you going until t...more

Loved it! Great read and full of laughter. You have to love these characters and Janet has plenty of imagination combined with King's great voice on audio make this a winner!

I received this book at a white elephant book exchange. I was sort of excited to read it because it's not a book I would pick-up on my own but I was looking forward to a quick, fun read with a little suspense and crime. And this book was quick, fun and full of crime. The characters were funny and quirkey and obviously one-dimensional.

My biggest complaint about this book was sometimes it seamed like the author was trying too hard to be shocking or clever. A couple times I thought to myself "I get...more
