I picked this up to practice my Hebrew and only slogged through it for that purpose. Alternating narratives--one about a photographer/activist/child-of-privilege in Tel Aviv who becomes a stalker over the course of her extra-marital affair with an Israeli Arab and alienates her best friend, the other about the aforementioned best friend's trip to France for the funeral of her cousin, a gay man who died of AIDS.
