A funny, raunchy, whacky book about four single-mums rollicking around in an Essex girl world of sex, drugs, unreliable men, their own children.
I suppose it qualifies a chick-lit, even if the main figures seem to be in their thirties, but I think it’s a bit more than just that. Vigorously written, with a lot of fast moving witty dialogue that makes it a fresh read, it’s a story that bounces around from disaster to disaster as the girls go in and out of relationships with a string of men as well

You get the feeling this book was written before 50 Shades and chick-lit became clit-lit. Characters with names like Sharon and Trevor listen to Walkmans, smoke, shag, go to the pub a lot and wrestle with single motherhood. The story is certainly authentic - and maybe that's its limitation - it's all too believable. What it has in common with 50 Shades is that the heroines are basically losers. Personally I'm looking forward to Chloe Esposito's Trilogy where women have the whip-hand.

Huge fun. A racy feminist novel that does not take it too seriously but draws the reader in to a group of single 1990s London mums dreaming of becoming a girl band while trying to cope with usually unsatisfactory men. Highly recommended.

This is one of Amazon's offers at the moment. I couldn't get past the first few chapters--I found the tone and style nauseating. Pretty sure I'm not at all her target audience, however.

This is a hilarious, and very rude romantic novel. I loved it!
