What do you expect when you see the title Dirty Deeds and the name Lorelei James on the cover of a book? Yeah, that's what I'd expected too, but alas, this story was PG13-rated at best (or worst, depending on your take, LOL). As for the plot, it was predictable and it could have been better developed, as the story seemed to drag at times. Regardless, this was a better than average read to me - mostly because I really liked Nathan and his sweet, romantic courtship of Tate. :)

Yep it was Dirty Deeds alright!!! Nathan owns a ditch/sewer digging company but he is wanting to branch out into landscaping. Tate is a graphic artist from Denver trying to remodel/refurnish her dead Aunt's house. Well she needs some help because the city has madated that she do major changes and bring the landscaping and yard into city ordinances. There is 2 plots to this book, One getting the house ready to resell and Tate is tired of her plain old boring vanillia sex life. She is hoping that ...more

Settling up her aunt’s estate and selling the house should be simple, but Tate Cross finds that things are a bit more complicated than she previously thought. The town of Spearfish has decided that the house will need some special landscaping and renovations before it can be sold. Tate finds herself struggling with the changes and prays she can quickly remedy the situation. Count on Tate’s friend Val to come up with a solution. One that will tempt Tate to let go of her inner ‘bad girl’ and live ...more

I really liked a lot of things about this book. the flow was great, the H/h were both very relatable, likeable, and steamy when they got together. our secondary characters were just as good. Nathan is the over eager workaholic. Tate is the one being a purely physical relationship, not usually what we see in books, so it was a nice change. I loved how through Nathan's wants and determination, he made Tate see the plus side of romance. though I'm not a fan of the deception, I loved their relations ...more

The Story

I can’t believe I have another DNF.

Nathan and Tate are cool an all but the stalling has gone on too long for me. She’s ready, he’s not and I’m tired of the back and forth. The hot kisses then need for cold showers. I want their relationship to move along already. I feel like we are stuck. So, le sigh, on to the next book I go.

The Random Thoughts

*DNF so no rating

Dirty Deeds was a quick, and pardon the pun, dirty read. Lorelei James could turn cleaning products into something salacious *grin*. It's no surprise the things (and positions) she can use when working with a HAWT Native American, blue collar business owner who wants to learn romance and a "once-burned, twice shy" pixie-ish woman who only wants to bang out any and all frustrations. Of course, when they fall in love, let the games begin.
While there were some touching moments and scenes of emotional intensity, I found Dirty Deeds boring for the most part. Even though Tate and Nathan had some good chemistry, I felt things were a bit lackluster; I really couldn't connect with either one. This was a story that has been told before and I don't think this book showcases what a great author Ms. James is.

If you are after something fun and sexy, then this is worth picking up. It didn't blow me away but it was an enjoyable read.

"DIRTY DEEDS captures heat and heart in equal measures."

This title from 2006 is a bit more tame (if you can call anything LJ writes tame!) than the Rough Riders, but still an enjoyable and steamy read.

I loved this book!! Super sweet-sweet hot Native-American Indian hero! A real, down-to-earth character that demonstrates some business skills.

Both the leads were good people, not really jerk-ish. The hero was a dream: sensitive, caring, not arrogant, or using of women, not the typical small-town playboy.

Granted both had personality flaws to battle and overcome: not being comple

A good girl let's her inner BAD GIRL drive her vajayjay to screaming happiness, but her hero slams LOVE into her heart!

Tate Cross is in Spearfish, SD to sell her deceased aunt's house & to work off her job suspension caused by her lying & credit stealing boss. She has always been a good girl, let her mom rule her career & men seem to think she is a doormat, but no more because she is unleashing her inner BAD GIRL for a no strings, no emotions & rocking her vajayjay to paradise af

This is the first book that I've read by this author, but after reading this book, I am very intrigued about reading more of her work. The story was fun, full of feels, great characters, and a bit diverse. I appreciated the efforts on the part of the author.

This is definitely a story of scorned turned to love. Our lead female, Tate Cross, is definitely a good girl. She keeps all of her ducks in a row and is a people pleaser. Until it

My first thought when I received this book for review? Damn, I want to mount that man on the cover and ride him like a prize winning show pony. But then again, I have a weakness for Native American men….and construction workers…and…well you get the picture right? Anyway, upon first looking at the cover I had extremely high hopes. It’s called Dirty Deeds after all.

Looking for a simple sex with no strings arrangement, graphic artist Tate proposes an arrangement with her best friends, very good loo

I had high hopes for this book. I've never read an erotic romance where the male lead is a Native American and whilst Nathan is extremely hot and the author provides very good descriptions of both him and Tate, this book for me just didn't deliver.

There is a small sub plot that deals with the prejudices towards Native Americans and I would have had greater enjoyment had this been more at the forefront of the story. Instead what we have is Tate needing some work carried out on her house and due t

In Dirty Deeds we have Tate who is just wanting a new strings everything else goes kind of situation. Nathan, her BF’s brother, fits the bill, so they think. Turns out Nathan isn’t wanting no strings anymore. He wants a little romance in his life now.

Nathan is a good man and he works hard. He doesn’t think a lot of women will look at him with his work clothes and the fact that he works in the dirt. I didn’t get that, then I thought about it. I was raised by a carpenter who always came home from

DIRTY DEEDS has everything I always expect in a Lorelei James novel. Lovable characters that you come to care for as the book progresses, and you feel an immediate connection to. A sense of family. And lots of sexiness.

Lorelei James knows how to write men. Yummy, working class, I-want-to-take-a-bite-out-of-their-muscly-butt’s men and Nathan LeBeau is no exception.

Nathan’s a “real man”, hard working, driven, just that little bit exotic and of course, drop dead sexy. I loved him from the very start. All he wants to do is get his landscaping business up and running so he no longer has to dig drains and ditches with those big muscles and his wonderfully vibraty machines. The only thing stopping him from being able

It has been a while since I’ve read a Lorelei James book. The first one was Slow Ride, a novella from her Rough Riders series, which was and is still free on Amazon. Reading this book then lead me to read the story that happened before this novella took place, which was All Jacked Up. These books helped me to know and understand the style of writing that Ms. Lorelei James does, so I was extremely excited for what this book had in store f

Ive read a few books by this author and she always seems to write hot Cowboys with more than a dash of romance so it was quite interesting to see just what Ms James would do with a sexy Native American . If you are in the mood for fun sexy exploits than this author is usually one to look for but I have to confess that this particular story is possibly not her most raunchy. If a slower pace full of anticipation appeals to you then this book should fit the bill quite nicely.

I received this book from the author in exchange of an honest review.

Dirty Deeds was a fabulous read! I was stunned at how beautiful this was written and how it was a smooth read. The characters Tate Cross and Nathan LeBeau were absolutely perfect. They were complete opposites that wanted the same thing in the end.

Tate was a woman lost and hurt from a previous relationship. She wanted to stop playing good girl and live on the wild side by having a raunchy fling with a hot guy. She wanted to expe

Just looking at the cover of this book got me excited to read it! Wow...could Lorelei James have gotten a hotter man? This story was a easy going contemporary romance that grabbed my attention and kept me interested until the end.

What I saw reading Dirty Deeds was just how much Lorelei James has grown into the author that we all love today. Her characters, Nathan and Tate, were very well developed in her signature style, and I also found them very easy to relate to as well. Now although I would classify this as more of a sweet romance than the erotic ones we are all used to from James, I really did find myself enjoying that it all the more because it fit in well with the characters and the storyline. Thoughts: With Lorelei James being the author - and a title like Dirty Deeds! - I really wanted to like this book, but it just didn't come together for me in this instance. This is a sweet story about two lonely people connecting and learning to break free from their normal lives.

Tate is a graphic designer in town to remodel/repair her late Aunt's house to sale. Nathan owns his own sewer/ditch digging business but wants to do landscaping. When the city demands she gets the yard up to ordinance, Nathan is there to help out. They make a deal, she wants no strings sex and he wants art lessons. Didn't like this book much at all...barely got through it.

The gender roles were reversed in this book, Nathan was acting like the girl, and Tate was being the douchy committment-phobe. I like my porn with a heaping serving of alpha male man meat, and Nathan was not that at all. Tate was a complete nympho... it was sort of scary.

Oh and what's with them taking over half the book before they get busy?? The sexing wasn't even that was sort of tame for Lorelei James!

The only reason I rated
I had this book for years on my TBR pile and I finally decided to read it this week.

After reading almost every book Lorelei James wrote I can defiantly tell that this was one of her earlier books- her writing improved a lot during the years, so for me Dirty Deeds wasn't a bad book, it's just wasn't as good as her recent books.

One of the things I love most about LJ books is how she deals with real life issues and doesn't try to sugarcoat reality- in Dirty Deeds she deals with prejudices and racis
