We've all heard and read the Nativity story. The author, David Jeremiah, forces me to look deeper into the meaning of the 25 questions he poses to us (and answers he provides) surrounding Jesus's birth. "Why the Nativity?" will deepen your knowledge and faith in this incredible story! There are additional scripture readings throughout the book, and at the end of each chapter; additionally, there are a couple of discussion questions at the end of each chapter. Christian or non- Chr...more

I was excited to win this book from Goodreads, but getting a book about the Nativity that is meant to be read around Advent is pretty hard to get into in January/February time frame.

I was hoping for great things from this book; to learn a lot - each chapter is about a different question dealing with the Nativity/Christmas and the traditions surrounding it. I didn't feel like there was any new information or anything that really made me delve deeper within myself or into the questi...more

A very good insight book that answers questions about the Nativity. A general answer book without alot of extra that confuses one. Thought provoking. 2 Thumbs up.

read this as a daily Bible study during the advent season at work. It's a blessing and makes you really feel like you are there at the Nativity scene.

Thought-provoking, spiritually uplifting book. I won this through the first reads program and I'm so glad I did. The book is set up as 25 questions based around its title, "Why the Nativity?" It touches on everything from Why Mary? to Why a Manger? to Why the Wise Men? and Why did Jesus come as an Infant? Wonderful read. Exceptionally well written. I definitely learned more about Jesus' birth and am happier for it. I would recommend this book to all Christians.

I will never look at a Natvity set the same way again. So much meaning to the life, time, and meaning of the birth of our Savior.

This book points out twenty five reasons why we celebrate Christmas, though it is designed to be used during the Advent season. It makes you think about why we celebrate Christmas and that Christmas is more than just getting gifts and spending time with our families.

As my first goodreads giveaway book sent to me (thanks Tyndale), I tried reading this as a bible study -slowly. Now I'm reading it straight through in order to give a review and I really like it!!! The title explains the exploration of why bethlehem, why Mary and Joseph - all the whys and details behind the tradition, giving it a reality and freshness. Will write more when I'm done!

I won this as a "First Reads" book. It was okay. Some chapters were better than others but overall not very memorable.

Although I do not agree with everything the author had to say I did find it well written and made me stop and think about what he had to say. Gave me another way to look at why we celebrate Christmas and the Nativity.
