The other entries in this miniseries are preferable to this one, primarily because of the heroine, Tara LeBlanc, being such a self-centered, arrogant idiot.

Tara angers two pharmaceutical reps who come to her land looking for flowers and plants to be synthesized into potentially life-saving drugs. She also gives a voodoo potion to her grandmother and to another older woman, Tanty, in hopes of curing them from their illnesses. This is after she has been told to stay away and let the police handle

Like all of the previous books in this series, Caroll manages to keep the pace of both the mystery and the romance moving along up until the very end of the book. Although voodoo plays a prominent part in this storyline, the amazing work of the Holy Spirit triumphs over all.

I enjoy the way Caroll intertwines her characters' thought process with what actually comes out of their mouths. I also like how she is not afraid to let her characters march forward into life full of unresolved feelings and

If you like mystery with your romance you will love the way Robin Carroll writes.

Bubba and Tara's story is as good as all the previous books in this Bayou series.

A Christian Sheriff finds himself falling for a young lady who hopes to be a voodoo priestess.

Tara was a difficult character to like and up until the last few pages she was not very nice and was into voodoo. In real life, I would tell the other person to slow their roll. Brand new Christian. May need to grow up spiritually a little before marriage? This one was a clunker to me :( here's to a better book 5!

I really loved this book because it's such a good, quick read ,despite the fact that two people are at death's door, but the only thing that bothered me was that Tara's family kept trying to convert her to Christianity.
The story just didn't interest me that much. The story just wasn't that interesting. It is well written though and a clean Christian mystery/romance.
