This is quality nastiness. Other books claiming to gross readers out hold back. King's Big Book of Gross Stuff delivers. Humorously narrated, this book is jam packed with gross information about everything from farting to sewers to disgusting jobs.

Gross subject aside, what makes this title a quality choice in non-fiction is King's ability to seamlessly blend information and entertainment. He also explores what the concept of disgust or finding something gross really is. The book is also very we...more

This book is exactly what it says it is - GROSS! It is not only fun and interesting to read, but it is also packed with science. It contains history, trivia and facts about everthing nasty. The writing is breezy and the illustrations fun. The green vomit splashes on pages draw your attention to interesting facts. The bibliography at the end provides further reading for those interested in reading more about the subject.

Recommend this to readers, third grade and up, who like reading about gross t...more

Ah the Big Book of Gross, the title speaks for itself. If there is something gross you want to learn about this is the book for you. With such chapters as What Makes it Gross, Gross Quiz, The Miracle of Birth, The Stream of Life, Animals, Breaking the Wind, Monsters, Everyone Poops so on and so forth if there is a discusting topic you want to know about this is the book to find it in.

The facts in green really pop out at the page, of course granted they are gross topics. My personal fave is the c...more

This book is what it states and that is gross. They have a way of nastifying things we do in our everyday lives. They were certain parts of the book where I had to stomach my lunch from coming out. People who are sensitive with such please heed my warning. This book is not meant for those with weak stomachs. A definite must read for kids who get a thrill with learning gross facts to tell their friends and grossing adults out with their newfound gross knowledge.

Very funny book. Explains a lot of things about your body and what some people do that are gross. This book contains everything from phlegm to poop. The funniest part in my opinion is the part where a Canadian principal threw her own poop at a kid just because he was annoying.

Very gross, yet very entertaining. Only a brilliant guy like Bart King could pull that off.

This book was not my favorite book but it was interesting to read it. It was really specific.

Gross! Cool, but gross. I learned new gross things along the way. It was kind of helpful of things to do and not to do.

My new project is THE BIG BOOK OF SUPERHERO STUFF (available late 2013). In addition to being a middle school teacher for 15 years, I am also the perpetrator of THE BIG BOOK OF BOY STUFF, which was Amazon.com's bestselling children's book for a whole day.

Along with my five sisters and 50 teen and 'tween girls, I wrote THE BIG BOOK OF GIRL STUFF. I'm also responsible for BART'S KING-SIZED BOOK OF...more
