Every time I would go into the mall when I was younger I would beg my parents to take me into the pet store. We would walk in and I would smash my face against the glass windows, trying to get the cutest dog’s attention. In the children’s book “The Pet That I Want” by Mary Packard, a young boy enters a pet shop trying to look for the perfect pet. Okay, my kids really like this, I actually am getting rather tired of reading it. It rhymes and has different animals and I've read it probably a hundred times. I am not exaggerating!

This is a cute book about a child describing the kind of pet he wants. It's a simple story, great for beginning readers, and it has cute illustrations.
