It's been a terribly long time since I read this book. This time I retread it in its natural language (the guy on the train behind me stopped me reading to ask me if I was reading it in French). It was also really unique to be able to go to an exhibit about the author and the book, to see the author's actual drawings and which ones they used in the book, plus learn more about his life and be able to see some of the weird coincidences. This is a delightful fable for children of all ages. I read it in English as a young child and then again in French some years later; I enjoyed it both times.
