I will admit, based on Zane's former books and the recommendations of the delightful ladies at my local library, I read this book with the expectation that it would be full of sensual sex. But, this was more than that (with a lot less sex than I expected - and that's a good thing).

This book had me explore a few hard issues. How to you react to a partner that constantly gets asked by your trifling friends for a turn in bed? How do you react when your partner is suddenly disabled - while protecti...more

I've read quite a few of Zane's books and "Afterburn" has always been my favourite...until now. Total Eclipse of the Heart was a GREAT read! She explores quite a few issues in this book and there are twists in the story that I didn't see coming at all. Parts of the story tend to drag, but I still gave the book 5 stars because she ventured off the beaten path with the storyline. She incorporated the erotic scenes that she's famous for, but adds depth, substance and realism to the plot. ...more

WOW... i read the reviews and everyone said this was a must read Zane book, and that it was until a lot of her other books... BOY THEY WERENT LYING... I continued to read this book despite the fact that i have four papers to write for my ENGLISH class. There are no words that can tell you how much i enjoyed this book. What I loved most about this book is that Brooke and Damon were built up as characters with problems not has a characters built around race with problems.. It isnt until the very...more

I can't put this book down... it goes through relationship problems most people wouldn't even think about. What would do if your partner aquired a disability during your relationship, would you stay with them? I personally really don't know what i would do, i think it would bother me especially if they didn't have it when we started our relationship. Think of all the ways it would affect the relationship, sex would be totally diffferent depending on the disability. It also talks about cheating i...more

I hadn't read any of Zane's books. However, after watching (and liking) her series on Cinemax, "Zane's Sex Chronicles," I decided to give her books a try. First I listened to "The Hot Box" (great), and then I decided to try "Total Eclipse..."

"Total Eclipse..." was fabulous. I think those who choose Zane's books strictly for the erotic content may be somewhat disappointed. However, those who love a good story will find this an excellent choice. ...more

Zane took a different turn in this book, drawing away from the sensual erotica she usually writes. However, if you're a true blue Zane fan, it still retains some of her raunchy writing style. Great book, nice plot, the ending though, predictable yet at the same time, I was like "huh?" She should have let the reader know in the beginning that this was the case otherwise the voices I gave the reader in my head would have been much different. But it was an intriguing read, definitely ...more

It definitely wasn't one of my standard Christian fiction novels, that's for sure. Having said that, I can truly say that this novel was an exceptional read! I read it in five hours. Amazing. One of Zane's best. I haven't read her work in a couple of years but I am glad I did. I couldn't put it down for one second! I am not even going to write a standard review about this one because I am still processing the emotions I felt reading it. Even the ending was just right.

Pow!

Recommends it for: Hard Core Zane fans
Not the typical Zane novel. This was more emotion driven and less sex. It was also sad with the main character losing his arm and all. I got tired of him constantly stating how he was one of the last good men. If your really a good man you don't need to advertise it all the time. People will know by the way you carry yourself. I was surprised at the end. It was such a small detail and reading the book I never noticed how Zane didn't really state the race of the characters. Not a great read but a...more

Minor Zane at best. Although a major step forward with less explicit sex scenes than in her previous books. Yet, being "Zane", the sex that is included is kinda graphic by most standards, yet tame compared to her previous books. Total Eclipse of the Heart focuses on the relationships involved besides the mind-blowing sex involved. Relationships are not her forte. Next time, I wanna be blown away girl! (pun not intended).

I liked the book overall but the small surprise at the end left me hanging, and wondering which one..? Not that it really matters as far as my opinion of the relationship I just wish I would have known while I was reading so I could imagine the characters better. At the same time the ending was clever. Zane really should write a book thats openly about interracial couples I would love to read it.

I enjoyed this book because I didnt know how versatile Zane was. It was completely different from what I have read previously. To see this style of writing from her just blew my mind! This was a heart felt book, because its very real. And the ending was a happy ending which is rare, so it was good to see that. So if you ever decide to read it, hopefully you enjoy it as much as I did.

The storyline was interesting enough that I wanted to keep reading just to see if Brooke and Damon end up together. There was an unexpected detail at the end that caused me to read the note to readers that Zane wrote and look back through the book to see if I could see any clues. The detail was also unnecessary. It seemed like a last ditch effort to make the book have some deeper meaning. When I finished, I didn't have the feeling of "That was good! Let me run and tell my friends." It ...more

I just re-read this book after having it for almost a year and I have to say I really love it. This is so different from the other books that I have read from Zane. The theme of true love was just so prevalent throughout this book. The turn of events that happens in Damon's life is just so unexpected, but is really what makes this book stand out from the rest. Damon was so instrumental in helping Brooke realize her full potential. This is the type of character all men should posses. Well done Za...more

I absolutely loved this book. I has every thing, relationship trials, drama, pain, and true love. It is a really great book. I couldn't put it down, I had to keep reading, it was just that good. I recomend this book to every one. Zane has taken romance writing to another level with this one.

This was an okay read. There were alot of spelling and grammatical errors like as if the story was rushed. I did really like the ending and the moral (if you will) of the story. Color is and love is blind. It is a nice book to sit on the beach and breeze through. I finished it in 2 days.

I fell in love with Zane because of her sexuality, but this book is different because it is more about love, but I still loved it. It just shows that she's very versatile in her style of writings. I just wish she would do more novels and less Anthologies of other people.

A great book about unconditional love, destiny and patience. This book dealt with a disability, and for once, addressed a 'good man', faced with some awful circumstances. What was in the last two pages of this book ... was not something that I expected, and had me wondering.

Enjoyed this book listened to it has a audio lovely ending, the two best people end up together. this books very different to the rest of zanes books of read there normally very sausey and based around sex but this book was very different.

What an unbelievably well-written book! I love Zane's work, but this book in particular REALLY touched me. It's a poignant reminder of what "true" love is and just how attainable it is if we all just open our hearts -- and our minds.

Wonderful book,I loved Damon more men should be like him.I adored Brooke, and I believe there is nothing wrong with biracial relationships. And it was great that she let people reieze a disability does not mean all hope is gone.
