4.5 stars. This is the third book in a Regency-set series which resolves around three men’s efforts to discover the murderer of their friend, Leo. I found the first two books well-written, amusing and engrossing, without ever being really touched by them. As other reviewers have pointed out, there was just something missing. At first I thought this story would be more of the same, but I slowly warmed towards it; when I reached the point where Julian shows Lily his true name, my heart melted and

Wow. A fantastic ending for the Stud Club...I'd wished we had gotten to know Leo more in the previous two books, well, I got my wish.
And Julian Bellamy became more than just the hero of the book. He will definitely be one who sticks with me...even if he could be an unmitigated ass at times.
I liked the idea of the Stud Club, and I liked how the theme of Leo's murder set off such a chain of events throughout the trilogy.

‘Three Nights with a Scoundrel’ is the final book in the Stud Club trilogy, the first and second books being, ‘One Dance with a Duke’ and ‘Twice Tempted by a Rogue’. I recommend that you read these books first to fully appreciate the story arc which runs through all three books.
We are first introduced to Julian Bellamy in ‘One Dance with a Duke’ and he certainly does not fit my idea of a romantic hero. He is a vain, arrogant, uncaring hell-raiser and totally unlikeable.

From My Blog...[return][return]Three Nights With A Scoundrel by Tessa Dare is the last book in her Stud Club Trilogy. The Stud Club, an exclusive horse-breeding society was created by the Marquess of Harcliff, Leo Chatwick, whose murder has never been solved, bringing the three remaining members, The Duke of Moreland, Rhys St.Maur, and Julian Bellamy together by a horse named Osiris. The first two books in the series, One Dance With A Duke and then Twice Tempted By A Rogue introduce the reader r

Review @ Under the Covers
The final installment of the Stud Club series is about the remaining bachelor of the group, Julian Belllamy and Lady Lily. Right from the first book you can see that Julian is madly in love with his murdered friend's deaf twin sister, the only person who doesn't seem to realize is Lily herself. But, as Julian gets more obsessed with finding Leo's murderers believing that they were really after him because of his very shady past, Lily gets worried for his heal More...

Great ending to a wonderful series!
I absolutely adore Julian Bellamy. Julian has many secrets just like most leading male characters in the romance genre. But what puts him apart from most "heros" with dark secrets was the ability to use those secrets to be productive and one heck of a business man. I can't get over the cleverness of him being a trend setter by wearing outlandish fabrics and raking in the rewards by secretly being the supplier of said fabric to the tai More...

Well, what to say about this one that all of my friends here on GR haven't already said (and much better than I could, I might add)?
I love Tessa Dare. I discovered her books earlier this year and she has quickly become one of my new favourite authors. Her voice is fresh, her characters compelling and she writes some of the best steam I've ever read.**

4.85 stars.
This is the author’s best book by far in regard to writing, story, characterization, and emotion. Not all romance novels are truly romantic but this book is.
Julian is a wonderful hero. He certainly has his flaws and makes stupid mistakes but there is no question he values Lily. I loved how respectful he was toward her, how he stood up for her. He is so obviously in love. Their friendship and connection was very evident. It is clear they belong together.

This was my favorite of the Stud Club Trilogy. When we were first introduced to the hero, Julian Bellamy, in the first book, One Dance with a Duke, I couldn't stand him! But at the same time I was intrigued by him and his feelings for Lily Chatwick. I knew their book would be a special book and I was right! I had loved Lily from the start, she was such a strong woman, but not in an overbearing way. She had dealt with a lot of pain in her life and obstacles from her being left deaf from an i

I'd say this was more of a 4.5 read! I've been floating around lately with these romance books. Nothing seemed to really intrigue me anymore because they all seemed the same! Then I found Tessa Dare's Stud Club Trilogy! I started with Morland and Amelia's story first, it was sweet but it didn't have me going like this book.
This book made me so angry, fustrated, sad, happy & best of all, VERY SATISFIED. after a long period of bore with romance books, I'd say this one awoken me back wit More...

Three Nights with a Scoundrel is the last of the Stud Club Trilogy. The book sees to the end of the mysterious death of founder Leo, who's sister, Lily finds love in this book with friend Julian. Throughout the other two books Julian came off as an ass and just rather unlikable but in this book you really get to know him, and for me I think he ended up as my favorite of the three male leads in the books.

I wasn't sure what to think going into this novel. I wasn't very impressed with Julian in either of the previous two books. He came across as angry, uncaring, selfish, vain and altogether a not-very-likable character. I vowed to have an open mind, but we all know how that is.
So it's with great pleasure that I say I absolutely adored Julian.

The end of this series, this book wraps up the mystery of who killed Lily Chatwick's twin brother, Leo, and Julian Bellamy's friend. Julian is the bastard son of a nobleman who kicked his mother out of the house even before he was born. He is currently playing a long-range plan of getting revenge on the entire ton by sleeping with every wife, daughter and sister he can get his hands on. When Leo dies, Julian immediately switches his concern to finding the killers and getting Lily a husband. Of c

Julian's transformation throughout the series can be likened to an onion: once a layer is peeled away, there are so many more to overcome. And Lily, God bless her, she breaks through each layer somewhat easily.
It doesn't hurt that both secretly love the other.
She took his breath away. Oh, she eventually let him have it back, because she was hardly a thief. But she made him work for it, Lily did. To have her within his line of view ws to feel the simple act of dra More...

Tessa Dare is one of my favorite authors. Whenever I’m hankering for a romance novel that I know will appease me in the way I need it to, I know I can rely on Tessa Dare. Three Nights with a Scoundrel is the third book in her Stud Club Trilogy, and is the story of Julian Bellamy and Lily Chatwick. Julian has been crazy about Lily from the first moment he met her, but he discounts himself of being worthy of her because of his shady upbringing and his super secret double life (dun dun DDUUUUUUU

The final installment of the Stud Club trilogy where Julian Bellamy may finally catch the murderer of his best friend - or better yet admit to his true feelings for his best friend's sister Lily. When the case threatens to shine light upon the ugly past of Julian Bellamy, he tries hard to deny his feelings for Lily and instead urge her to consider better men who are worthy of her hand. Will Lily heed his advice for once - or will she instead make a choice that may bring ruin to them both?

This is the third installment of a trilogy, and yes you MUST read the other two first, otherwise it wouldn't truly make sense.
Julian Bellamy is a large and angry man who's been in love with Lily (sister of dead club founder) since he first met her. Believing himself terribly unworthy of her, and harboring a vault of dirty secrets he's convinced that he needs to get her married off to someone else... oh and figure out the mystery surrounding the murder of her brother + finding out on More...

Well, I've just finished this book, and it really didn't turn out to be anything like I was expecting at all. In some ways it was better, but in a lot of ways it was a disappointment.
I really liked getting to know Lily better. I liked seeing her deafness while trying to live a regular life. At times it felt a little too easy for her, but enough authentic moments of confusion and fear and embarrassment were mentioned, that it didn't bother me too much. I liked this book a lot. I've liked the previous books in the series--and, well, pretty much everything Dare has written.
So--in this one, the hero is a nobleman's bastard son who grew up hard, and made his own way in the world. The heroine is a lady, the twin of the hero's best friend. This best friend/twin brother was murdered in the first book of this series and the series story arc has been about solving the murder--which is resolved in this book. Okay, I REALLY liked this one! Lily and Julian.
He's SO COMPLETELY in love with her, but he's convinced that he's not good enough for her. And, okay, rank-wise, he's really not... she's 13th or so in line for the throne and he wasn't even really born a gentleman... <spoiler>We find out later, he's a Lord's by-blow, but still.</spoiler> And Lily is in love with him, too. I'm not sure she's ever admitted it to herself, but she does that by like chapter 2 or 3.

This last book in the trilogy was very entertaining. Julian Bellamy and Lily Chatwick have been friends for years but the murder of Leo, Lily's twin brother, seems to be bringing the two closer together in this time of need. Julian has secrets though and no one really knows much about his family history. He tries to deny his attraction to Lily because he thinks she deserves someone better than him. Lily refuses to marry anyone but Julian though because she has been in love with him for years

I liked the series didn't love it. I just think I am burnt out on this historical timeframe, 1800's. It is not exciting enough and the men are not manly enough for me. That all being said the 3rd book in the series does have my favorite and most likable couple of the trilogy, Julian and Lily, and I was looking forward to their romance. I think because of that romance, very sweet and genuine, I ended up enjoying this book. The mystery which started in the first book never really was that int

Let me use a phrase Lily and Tartuffe were fond of: Oh, Julian. Sigh.
This is most definitely my favorite Stud Club book. Julian and Lily are such a wonderful couple. Lily's deafness, and it's impact on the story, was a touching aspect. Especially how Julian related and handled it.
And I especially loved Julian's back story. His heartaches and struggles and how they formed the man he became... Oh, Julian. I've never read a hero quite like him.

I haven't read the other two books but I was able to quickly jump into this on and get hooked. I loved how Tessa Dare took characters that you normally don't see in a historical romance novel and make them the Maine characters. I've never read a book with a deaf person as one of the main characters and I've never read a book that had a "mollie" as another character or a man leading two completely different lives. I thought it was a nice change from the normal pretty lady with no issues

The murder mystery behind the stud club's founder Leo Chatwick is wrapped up nicely in this last book of the trilogy.
Lily Chatwick and Jullian Bellamy make a good couple. They seem made for one another. I was glad they didn't fight their feelings for one another the whole book since we had already seen Jullian fight his feelings for Lily in the first 2 books. Jullian has a mysterious past and bit by bit he shares it with Lily.

Was very pleasantly surprised by this one. Don't you just love it when an author makes a character seem beyond redemption and then you come to understand and love them? Dare does just that in this book. He's the biggest rake in London. His exploits are renowned. His one weakness? Lily. He would never do anything to taint her. She wants only to help him deal with the pain of her brother's (his best friend's) death. So a deal is struck and she has three nights to bring him back from the brink of s

Ah, finally! My favorite of the three! This book grabbed me and didnt let go! I am pretty sure I read this in about 24 hours.
Why did I like this one more? The characters are so unique and interesting in the romance novel world! Let's take a look.
Lily is deaf. She was sick as a girl and lost her hearing, so this already makes for an interesting perspective. I loved seeing how she interacted at a dinner scene or could read lips pretty well, but could hardly ever get new nam More...
