*Sigh* this series is awesome! They are all light, fun, reads with the best heroes. We all know firemen don’t really look like the guys at Station 5, but hey, this is fantasy-land, right?

Tommy is the youngest at the station at 23, and he’s been struggling lately with the path he has chosen. A few years ago, his older brother was captured, tortured and murdered in the middle-east. He had a promising football career and was possibly going pro when it happened. When his brother died, he dropped ev...more

Sweet. That's the word that keeps popping into my head when I think about this book. Sweet and sexy. The character of firefighter Tommy Skyler (a young Brad Pitt look-alike) was just a sweetheart. He was young (23) but he'd already had a few knocks in his life (a terrible family tragedy that altered the course of his life and ruined his hopes for a career in pro football) and he was plagued with some self doubts about his 'more heroic' career as a firefighter. He met the heroine, 28 year old cut...more

Opening Line: “Go wide! Go wide! Come on Skyler pass the ball!”

Line Of Fire is book #4 in in the romantic, suspenseful and sexy firefighters of station five series. This time through we get apparent Brad Pitt lookalike Tommy Skylar’s story. At 23 he’s the youngest member of ‘A’ shift, a former star quarterback, Tommy had dreams of going to the NFL until the death of his brother in Iraq changed everything. Striving to make his parents proud Tommy joined the Fire Dept but still isn’t sure it’s whe...more

Line of Fire is the fourth book of the Firefighters of Station Five series and ended up liking much more than I thought I would.

At 23 years old, Tommy Skylar is the youngest member of Station Five, and everyone treats him that way – not like a kid per se, but they’re always watching out for him and in fact, they do call him “kid.” He’s a sweet, easy going Brad Pitt lookalike who gets along with everyone, so he’s come across as kind of wimpy in the other books. But the thing about Tommy is that...more

^^ITS A LINE OF HOTNESS!^^

Finally, its young boy Tommy’s book, and his older love interest. Then I realized Tommy aint so young and his love interest still got ways to go, to be considered older, way off of being considered old. I liked book four, not the spectacularness that is book three but its still another great instalment. What’s not to love about firefighters, hot bodied men, and burning buildings. Not a damn thing, not a damn bloody thing.

Tommy is the baby of Station 5, only twenty-thre...more

Nice, easy read. Line of Fire picked up right where Hidden Fire left off, so be sure to read this series in order. If I remember correctly, the main characters, Tommy Skyler and Shea Ford, were splashed on the pages in earlier books and the continuing saga about Sean (the captain) is escalated. I feel like Sean's tragic story is winding down now. Still heartbreaking.

Very light on the suspense and heavy on the sweet romance, Line of Fire was about young love, heartache, life's tragedy's forcing c...more

Another great addition to this series and it's really more like 4.5 stars. Tommy & Shea were totally believeable together and made a great couple. Tommy is definitely put through the ringer with accidents & injuries(although no where near as much as poor Zach - and let's thank goodness for THAT). The sex scenes were totally sizzling - Tommy has a lot of experience in his short 23 years.

Great update on all of the other characters and we get to see Zach and Cori get married. Sean is still...more

This was a really good read - one thing that just really got my goat though? The amount of references to Tommy's mum and dad. I mean I get the guy is still only in his early 20's but geez I dont think any hot blooded male talks about momsy and dadsy so much and to a woman he wasnt to do the hanky panky with no less!

Otherwise top notch!

4.5 stars.

OMG. This was a really good one. Sorry for the disjointed thoughts that follow. I want to do this without spoilers, and I'm sitting at work, too, hiding my monitor *g*.

Just a couple things kept it from being a 5-star read for me, and they are likely my own issues. First, Tommy is 23. How the hell is he so practiced a lover? A serious hottie in the bedroom. K, I'm sure it's my own experiences here, since he was a star college football player and then a firefighter. But still...

Everyone thought he had the golden life: looks and career but they don't understand the weight of emotions he carries in his past. Tommy Skyler has been loving nurse Shea Ford so he doesn't easily give up despite her brush offs. So after an injury that lands him in the hospital, Tommy takes the chance to re-new their relationship. Shea is weary but sees the lengths Tommy goes for her and concedes. In the background, someone is planning the removal of a character by sabotoging the rescue attempts...more

It had a few good moments, but not that many. Line of Fire was like an X-rated blending of Leave It To Beaver and CHiPs. (If you're too young to know, CHiPs was a late 1970's TV show featuring two motorcycle cops from the California Highway Patrol.) Hunky guys and beautiful women spouting poorly-scripted lines, while occasionally having emotional heart-to-hearts with themselves or others. I thought I might be blinded by the virtual gleam coming off the shiny teeth. And the "we've been through he...more

Hmmm, yet again, this series just doesn't seem to click very well with me. Sure, it's hot (at times), sure it's sweet (at times), sure it's suspenseful (again, at times), there's just something there, which I cannot put my finger on, that doesn't work that well for me.

The pacing was good, the characters were nice, the plot was rather tight, I just didn't feel it. I also didn't "feel" the connection between the two leads, I didn't really understand Tommy's decision toward the end, and Shea's init...more

Poor, poor Tommy... Hasn't he been through enough at a young age. Carrying the burden of his brother's death and his fear that though he gave up everything, he will never be the man that Donny was.

With that said, I feel a personal responsibility to say God Bless the Troops. Though I realize that this is a story, it is a very real fact that everyday a young soldier gives his life and their families suffer the loss for their bravery.

Tommy is the all-American boy that every little girls' mommas te

I'm sad to say this one was not my favorite in the series.... Sad because I was looking forward to Tommy and Shea's story. The suspense part of the plot was decent I guess, the bad guy was just too obvious imo. I like to be kept on the edge of my seat not able to figure out the who dunnit parts til closer to the end but that wasn't the case here. The romance was good, but some of the dialogue between Tommy and Shea was too cheesy/corny for me. The sex was hot but that's about it. I found myself...more

Tommy Skyler & Shea Ford
OK, Jo Davis still loves to beat the hero, but this time I might say it wasn´t that bad. Still bad enought, since Tommy has to change his career.
The relationship between Tommy and Shea startet a bit slow. There is nothing realy special at their love story, this time the story is more about Tommy and how he finds his way again after the accident. That´s not bad at all since JD develops or carries on with some (new) character. (still enough hot scenes, don´t worry!!)

3 1/2 stars.
Well, the book wasn't bad at all, but i was somehow dissapointed with Tommy. Not much to say, the romance and plot were ok, but this is definetly my least favorite book of the series, in fact, the brightest point of it was the teaser chapter of Ride the Fire (Sean's book) and i can't wait to read it.

I'm quite enjoyed this little story. Maybe not as much as the others although the plot got pretty good toward the end. I guess I'm just holding out for Sean and Eve's story. This one was kind of nice but it had a rushed feeling to it which the previous stories didn't have. Enjoyable though.

Book 4 in the Series and every bit as HOT as the first 3!!!

Jo Davis, definitely knows how to write about sexy hot heroes & even stronger woman to match up!!!

Tommy Skyler, once a pro football player with tragedy on his side, turns heroic firefighter.

Shea Ford, a nurse, has her own dark secrets from her past that keep her shielded from starting a relationship & of course, her big bad brother, Shane the cop!!!

Will the arsonist and city manager burn down the entire town and will Shea get cau...more

I liked this one. The writing was crisp and clean. The dialogue was good and believable. Tommy was well written and was a pretty believable man with problems that seemed real and not exaggerated in an angsty way. He had them but the author, while showing that they were significant in his life, didn't make him stew about them until you were sick of them. He sometimes seems a bit more mature than your average 23 year old. I kept flashing on my goofy 23 year old nephew but I will admit that not all...more

I really enjoy seeing an author grow and come into her own in her writing. Jo Davis is definitely doing that with her Firefighters of Station Five books. Granted, so far I’ve read only the first and fourth books, but I can see a marked growth in her work. Kudos, Ms. Davis. You’re doing a terrific job.

This is a younger man-older woman theme, which I normally don’t care for, but Ms. Davis handles it extremely well. I like all of the characters a lot and, of course, that helps.

Tommy is a firefighte...more

*****MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILERS*****

The fourth installment of Jo Davis' sizzling series, pun intended, stars Tommy Skyler, A-shift's youngest firefighter, and Shea Ford, Sugarland's ER nurse.

With their five year age difference, Tommy at age 23 and Shea at 28, she feels he is too young and immature, though she can't deny she is attracted to him. Keeping him at a distance, Shea's determined not to give in to her feelings, but Tommy has other plans. He's unwilling to see this woman walk out of his li...more

Great characters, all of them. Loved Tommy and Shea. Perfect for each other. Both young and full of life. Sure, it might be a little unrealistic to believe that a man as young as him is ready, able, and mature enough to have such a healthy committed relationship, but who cares. The men of station Five are all fabulous guys. I got attached to each and every one of them.

Tommy and Shea both had some issues to work out but they did so together and I was glad they were able to share themselves with...more

My Review:
Tommy is the youngster at Station Five. With movie star good looks and a happy-go-lucky personality, no one knows the real story about how Tommy ended up a firefighter. Like all the guys, he has a backstory that's not so happy. Shea, too, has a past full of tragedy.

I didn't like this book quite as much as I liked the others. There was a lot more time and energy focused on the bad guy's story and I felt that it really detracted fr...more
