Let's Get Lost by Sarra Manning holds the place of my favorite book [it actually ties for first place with The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen:]. It is such an amazing book, I could not put it down once I started reading it. I'll admit it, the reason I picked the book up was because the of the cover, something about the girl on the front, the expression on her face looked familiar for some reason, I know, that sounds stupid, but I'm glad I DID pick it up. This book always touches a spot in m...more

Isabel's friends are terrified of her, her teachers can't get through to her, her family doesn't understand her, and that's just the way she likes it. Nothing gets to Isabel--not even her mother's sudden death. When she meets an enigmatic guy named Smith, Isabel fights hard to keep hold of her cool, snarky image, but she soon finds herself coming apart at the seams, feeling the pain, and missing her mom...more

Isabel is 16 and she's a real b* to all around her. Even the death of her mother this summer hasn't changed her. She's cold and heartless but inside, she feels lost and alone. And then, she meets Smith, a college student that will not let her get away with her attitude and who will let her be herself! But can all the lies really be a good basis for a relationship?

Very good book about grief and being an adolescent. At first, I really didn't like Isabel but the more you read, the more you und...more

Sarra Manning's books always seem to feature über-cool characters who wear red raincoats and listen to Broken Social Scene. Isabel, here, is just that; but she is the school bully as well, so it initially felt hard to identify with her. But I felt I somehow could stay with her as she slid deeper and deeper under the big consequences of the little things she'd done. A book that I have read twice, and both times found it hard to discard.

picked up new pbk reissue of 2006 british YA novel and really liked it. 16yo teen Isabel prides herself on her mean-girl attitude at school, but falls for an older boy and her bitchy facade begins to crumble. turns out the attitude is connected to her feelings about her mom's death (which she's been repressing). lot's of music details and british slang - kind of reminiscent of a sarah dessen novel crossed with nick & norah.

This book is about a 16 year old girl who lost her mum, and falls in love with an 18 year old boy. Her friends don't understand her and her teacher cannot get through to her but when she meets a boy called smiths her life has completly changed. it's a really good book if your in your teens because you will get into it and understand it, so if your not in your teens i would not recommend it to you, no hard feelings!

This book is a behind the scenes look at the life of a bad girl. You know the mean girls who run every thing in your school. Well Isabel isn't all as hard as she thinks she is. Infact that hot boy from the party will have her notice that the hard way.

Well it's another one of those junky Sara Manning books for summer, but this one was a lot better than Guitar Girl and Pretty Things, because it had a meaning. Almost cried during it twice, but I found it poorly written in spots.

This book shows that even if you are popular and rich and get everything you want, you're not necessarily happy.

I love that the author uses characters from another book she wrote as minor characters in this story.
